The rest of the semester, which was only one month, was awkward. It was a good thing though, that N.E.W.Ts were over, for Iris didn't attend any classes since the breakup. Percy attended them, but it wasn't... Percy. It was more Head boy, perfect pompous single Percy. Rumours were going around, but Sirius Black's escape, involving Harry, outshone the news. Not many people actually knew Iris and Percy were dating, so not many people knew they broke up. Penelope had started tagging along to Percy once more, but Percy didn't notice it because his head was filled with Iris. He felt guilty for what he did, but on a side note, he could concentrate on what he wanted to do in the future. Iris said some mean things to him too, so they were even. Anyway, they wouldn't be near each other after they graduate, so it would give them both a chance to move on, right?
Iris had been holed up in her room. She wallowed for about a week, which was mostly spent consuming stolen ice cream from the kitchen. It was different from when she broke up with Wheeler since she actually had feelings for her newest ex-boyfriend. She knew Percy wouldn't approach her anymore, he wasn't the type to make the first move. But yet Iris wished every day, he would come back. It got to the point where she became obsessive over him, wishing on every star she saw, reading psychological books, everything. It took 2 weeks for her to realize, and another to figure out she was better off without him. But it wasn't as easy as it sound. 24/7 she lay in her bed with her mind thinking, that was a lot of thinking. Then the last week of her isolation, she came up with a plan. She forbid herself to think about Percy, which wasn't that useful since he slithered back into her mind every minute, but it was progressing. She needed to figure out what to do between now, and next semester when she would be residing at Hogwarts. That took her mind off things... for while. She ended up finding a place to rent in London, somewhere far from Surrey but also far from the burrow.
Unfortunately, since she was head girl, she had to give the graduation speech with Percy, someone she deeply wanted to avoid. She contemplated asking Dumbledore to ask someone else, but then it would make her look weak to Percy. She figured he already thought that since she'd been holed up here for so long, but whatever. Percy didn't actually expect Iris to show up, she didn't when they were supposed to make speeches together. Yet she did, in the most disapproving Dursley and Percy fashion. Her robes were crinkled, much more than the other students. Her hair was down, and you could see the effort she tried to put in, but it resembled a rat's nest either way. She had big bags under her eyes, the lack of sleep taking effect. Percy started listing these off in his head, being the judgemental person he was. He wondered who would show up to graduation like that.
Iris knew her appearance would bother Percy, which is partly why she arrived like that, also that she actually was a mess, and one night wasn't enough to clean up. But either way, she wasn't ashamed of it. It was her last day of school, she wanted to leave an impression. She walked up to the front of the stage, her robes fluttering around her ankles. Her shoes were visible, showing off her bright blue converse. A little touch to her outfit. This bothered McGonagall as well, but she didn't do anything about it.

The whole night was boring, even Iris's speech managed to be formal, which was a relief to Percy and most teachers. The Weasleys were all there, Mrs. Weasley not knowing of their break-up. The woman sensed obvious tension between them, but she didn't know, she approached Iris. Percy wanted to avoid this situation if it was the last thing he had to do, but he didn't have the heart to tell his parents they broke up. He saw his mother walking up to the blond and immediately interfered. "Not now mother." Mrs. Weasley was astonished. "Why not Perc? The poor girls alone there, and the ceremony if finished!" His brothers and Sisters purposefully didn't tell Mrs. Weasley, they wanted Percy to do it himself. Percy continued to lead them back to the rest of the family, while Mrs. Weasley protested. "What kind of man are you, Percy! I haven't seen you go anywhere near your girlfriend all night!" She was now scolding him, and no matter how superior Percy found himself, his mother would always scare him.
"She's not my girlfriend anymore," he sighed out quietly, making Mrs. Weasley shrink and say 'oh' a little surprised. She sensed he was uncomfortable so she dropped the subject.

Iris sat with Harry, Ron, and Hermine on the way back from Hogwarts, her last train ride, as a student. Phelipe and Eric had decided to stay in Hogsmeade for a while, making it their little getaway. At the moment, Harry was explaining everything to Iris about Sirius, Pettigrew, everything. Even about Lupin. Iris actually liked the professor this year, and she knew all along he was a werewolf, which was unfortunate. The train skidded to a stop, and Harry looked sadly to his cousin. "Oh, don't be sad Leo, I'll see you at school next year. And I'll visit when you want me to." She reassured him, and Harry felt guilty he didn't spend so much time with her this year. It was selfish of him. He nodded and they walked off the train, Irs leading him to her parents to make sure they actually picked him up. She found her father waiting timidly, grunted when he saw the two. "I thought you were taking him! Then I receive a letter asking me to take him back!"
Iris narrowed her eyes at her father. "I was supposed to, and it's not like I want you to keep him." She looked back to her cousin, giving him one last look before turning away. Her father cleared his throat, indicating he wanted to talk about something. She turned back, and Vernon handed her a letter. "What's this?" She wondered but knew exactly what it was once she saw who the sender was. "Nooooo. You're joking right?" Vernon looked like he was being asked the most ridiculous question. "I'm not going." She said, handing him back the letter. Harry got a glimpse of the letter and grimaced. It was from her grandparents, and while Harry had only met them for an hour, they were 10x worse than Vernon and Petunia. Vernon frowned. "Yes, you are young lady." Iris was not in the mood to be bossed around. "No, I'm not. I'm an adult now, I can make my own decisions. Vernon straightened up. "Ah, among you lot you are, but among us, you aren't quite yet. Even by the time the party happens, you will still be 17, and your grandparents think you still live with us." Iris sighed heavily. If they wanted her there, she kind of had to go, it was a life or death situation. (Over-exaggeration). "Fine, but I'm there at the door, and as soon as it's done, I'm out." the man shook his head. "No, they insist on sending a car to pick us up, and to drop us off."
Iris groaned, making Vernon glared at her. "Well, I really don't have a choice then do I?" Vernon was going to add something. "One more thing, they expect you to bring a guest." Iris felt like a thousand bricks fell on top of her. "Well, that seals the package, doesn't it? Is that it or do I have to be engaged?" Her father pointed a stubby finger at her, making Harry ready to defend if necessary. "You will behave, for his sake." He jotted his head in Harry's direction, making all the sarcastic comments in iris's head disappear. She groaned once more, "Fine." Now the hard part would be getting a date, if one was idiotic enough to go with her to her grandparents. She had a candidate in mind, two actually, but she feared they might not be available.
