Setting up a bank account in a world that you've just discovered was hard. It took Iris a little while to figure out what she wanted. In the end, she was now fully covered for 7 years at Hogwarts and a certain amount of money in her vault for her school supplies. She found the way down to her vault thrilling rather than sickening. The goblin she was riding with kindly told her the wizarding currency which Iris took no time remembering. After the bank, she set off to the wand shop, discovering that wands were going to be necessary if she wanted to go to Hogwarts. Entering the shop, she thought she might have mistaken the place, but when she hit the bell, an old man came swooshing in. "Ah, and who might you be?"He asked. Iris silently gulped and replied. "Iris Dursley sir."

She watched him climb off his ladder and approach her. "Nice to meet you, Ms. Dursley. Do you mind telling me which arm is your wand arm?" Iris thought she didn't hear correctly. "M-my wand arm?" She repeated. "Yes, which arm do you use for your wand?" Iris thought about it. She really didn't know which was her wand arm. "Well, I'm Right-handed if that's what you mean." He didn't reply, but merely grabbed his wand and out of nowhere, grabbed a measuring tape to measure her arm. He walked away after talking to himself. Iris was scared to move. He came back with a box in his hand. "12 inches, applewood and kneezle hair."

He passed the wand to Iris who had no idea what to do with it. She looked at him strangely, mutely asking him what to do. "Give it a swish," he said. So she did, and 100 times after that, but they all resulted in failure. "Not to worry my child, I will find you a wand!" iris had given up hope. "Try this! 11-inch acacia wood kelpie hair," Iris attempted to give the wand a swish, but she felt a warm glow in it. "At last! That wand has been in my store for centuries! I'm glad it had a great owner! That will be 6 galleons."

Iris handed him the right amount of money and thanked him for his time. "Wait a second. Ms. Dursley, if I may ask, do you by any chance have any relative connection to Lily Evans?" Iris thought for a moment. "Well, I had an aunt named Lily, and I think my mother's maiden name is Evans, but I don't think she was a witch. She died about 6 years ago." Ollivander looked at her green eyes. "You might be surprised, you look a lot like her." Iris thought it was a bit odd so she left. But even though she attempted to shake it off, she had a weird feeling that there was something going on.

She looked down at her watch and found she had 2 hours left. If she picked up her speed, then she could maybe hit some books and see if her aunt was a witch. Rushing through the parchment and quills, almost helping Madam Malkins with the robes, and put random potions into her cauldron. She finally reached the bookstore with 45 minutes left. She gave herself a minute to breathe before rushing again and grabbing all necessary books. Then she went through the first book in front of her. Hogwarts a History. Didn't give her anything about her aunt,  but there were some very interesting facts that she learned about. Going through so many books, she found out that 'muggle' meant a non-magical folk, quidditch was a sport they played on broomsticks, Hogwarts had four houses and she thought she belonged in Ravenclaw, and that her cousin was famous. She found out in 'The boy who lived' and after tracking down certain books and articles, she found out everything her mother told her was a lie.

Her little cousin, just a baby, survived one of the most crucial curses that no one had ever survived. The only thing he got was a scar. Her aunt and uncle were indeed wizards and witches, which explained why Petunia knew where to go. According to the book, James Potter was a pureblood Gryffindor, while  Lily was a muggle-born Gryffindor. They both died trying to save their son on Halloween of 1981. Looking down at her watch, she found out she only had ten minutes before her mother would pick her up, so she cleaned the mess she made and left. She would have loved to buy all the books, but Gringotts would only allow her to buy the necessary ones.

She found her mother's car pullup right as her timer went off. She got into the car loading everything into the car quickly and sat in the second row. Her mother stayed quiet, and Iris wasn't really sure how to start off the conversation. She let betrayal and anger take over the beginning. "Aunt Lily was a witch, was she not?" The car swivelled on the road. After gaining concentration, Petunia looked back to Iris with her eyes wide. "How did you know that?" Iris looked back at her mother with determination. "I read a book about all the greatest wizards and witches of all times. I found Harry in there. Yes Harry Potter, my cousin! Apparently, he survived a 'killing curse' or something which no one had been able to do. He destroyed one of the darkest wizards! And you're treating him like dirt! Anyone in the wizarding community would die to meet him! I can't believe you!" They pulled up to the driveway, and for the first time maybe ever, her mother didn't scream.

"I didn't know the boy was famous. I only knew they got killed, and he didn't." Petunia spoke in a very call voice. "L-lily was accepted to Hogwarts, just like you. Got married to Potter and everything. I knew the boy would be no different, but we took him in trying to stomp it out of him." She said her sister's name struggling. "It's too late for you, I don't know where we went wrong," Iris raised an eyebrow, and thought to herself. "Oh the audacity" "But I don't want you to tell the boy or your brother. There is still time, although he might be too late anyway. As far as your father knows, the boy isn't one of you lot. I'd like to keep it that way. Now go upstairs and get ready for dinner.

Iris obeyed, but she had to admit, that was one of the oldest conversations she had with her mother.
