"What do you think you're doing here?" Lucas asks Arnold bitterly.
"I couldn't leave you, man. I need to go with you. You're all the family I have, so I hopped on the train at the hub and waited for you guys." Arnold replies, in a lighter tone than Lucas'. Lucas walks up to Arnold in long strides and stops just a few inches away from Arnold's face.
"You should have stayed." Lucas says in a deep voice.
Arnold looks at him like he's expecting another part of Lucas' reply, but eventually backs up to the wall of the cart and slides to the floor. I notice that Arnold's bright and goofy character wasn't expecting such an angry response, and I can't help but feel sorry for him. I glance at Lucas. He stares at the city below us and takes a long, heavy, deep breath. His face sheds a look that could be analyzed as sad, angry, confused, and worried all in one.

The train rushes through the city and through one of the windows, I can see the concrete fade into grass. We're getting close. Minutes after we begin to approach the wall that surrounds the city, Lucas speaks up.
"Here it is. Get ready to jump."
We all move to the door in a line, Lucas first, and Arnold last. We jump one by one onto the damp and muddy grass, resulting in an easier landing then on the roof of Dauntless. When we pick ourselves up, we swerve directly towards the wall - impossible to climb and extremely intimidating.
Multiple Dauntless guards stand by the door in the fence and stare at us, hands on their guns. Lucas quickly shifts his sprint into a jog, then into a regular walking pace - as do the rest of us. The guards lower their guns about 6 inches, and begin to walk in our direction.
"What are you doing here?" The one guard asks. He is heavier and his breath reeks garlic and cheese.
"We came to patrol Amity. We were ordered to by Max. Says there were two scandals on the loose." Lucas tells them. When I realize he's talking about Marie and I, I immediately put my head down and stare at my muddy, black sneakers.
"Hmmm." The same guard continues, I hold my breath to avoid the stench.
"We didn't receive any notice that you were coming. What are your names, again? Can we also see some ID?"
I begin to panic, and I feel sweat form under my arms and down my back. Lucas nods and squats down, pulling his bag down from his shoulder and untying it from his belt. Arnold chews on the inside of his cheek and Marie presses her heels as far as she can into the ground. Lucas slowly un-zips the bag and reaches in, pretending to search for ID badges.
We're screwed.
Then suddenly, Lucas whips out a giant metal gun and fires at the Dauntless men. All of them fall to the ground except two of them, who Marie and I tackle to the ground before they can shoot. Lucas then fires at the two men that Marie and I took down, who now are dead, I shiver.
Arnold and Marie both pick up a gun from the selection of dead guards and run ahead. I do the same and try to keep up with them until more bullets fly at us. I fall to the ground and put my hands over my head. More guards. We shoot back at them and hit each of them, one by one, until it is safe to proceed.
"I'll run to the top where I can access the wall's control system and open the gate door ways. Afterwards, I'll meet you down and we can keep going." Arnold shouts back at us, already making his way to the stairs of the fence. The rest of us gather by the door, and wait anxiously. After about three minutes, Lucas begins to panic. Before he can yell up to Arnold to hurry up, the concrete doors open and halt to a stop. I see tall grass and small cabin like buildings ahead of us. Its only then when I realize what is on our way out.

Amity.
