 Leo POV

I poke Emma on the cheek and she jumps up startled. I giggle and shake my head as she settles back in to the bench glancing up at me she blushed softly. “Sorry I didn’t realize I had spaced out while waiting for you” she said softly.

“Its fine Em” I say giving her one of my winning smiles.

Emma had waited for me before school started and told me she wanted to meet me after school so we could talk. I was glad she would wait for my club to end which was weight training. Hey I might not look like I'm strong but I am. Anyhow at first I was worried and nervous; I thought is she going to reject me? Then I realized just how silly that sounded I mean if she wanted to reject me she could have kept ignoring me. Well more like not contacting me she always said hi to me in the hall or when we past each other.  

“I’m glad you decided to meet me” she says her eyes staring nervously in to mine.

“Well, what did you wanna talk about?” I ask raising an eyebrow at her.

“Well... I want us to get to know each other better… if that’s ok with you” she says looking away shyly?

“Like date?” I ask a little too excited.

“Hmm like friends?” she says instantly crushing my heart.

“So why do you want that?” I ask although it came out a little angrier then I had intended. I actually wanted it to come out more playful.

“I just think I don’t really know you and you don’t know me we just meet at a party and I thought maybe if he is interested he would like to get to know me er… him being you” she states.

“I see, well lets be friends” I say with a light chuckle. She wasn’t really turning me down she just wanted to get to know me which made me feel like I had a shot at her.

“So… do you have time right now to hang and get to know each other?” I ask casually.

“Yeah, what do you want to do?” she asks standing up.

“Food?” I say standing up too and then walking towards my car.

“Sure I’m starved” and as if on cue her stomach growled “Sorry!”

“Hahaha its fine… I wonder why mine hasn’t done that yet” I say wanting her to feel better about the whole thing. She had turned bright red like a tomato, so cute. I really hope she wants to be more then friends some day soon.

We walk to the parking lot and to our awaiting ride; my truck. I love my truck; my mom gave it to me for my birthday. I had to fix it up a little because it had been in a crash that’s how my mom got a good discount on it but now it was a beauty. It was a black F-150 it fits like 5 people and a bunch in the back. It’s perfect for my job too.
