Emma POV

I was startled by what Ethan had said but I held my ground “No I want to help what if my cousins are in trouble” I say stupidly bravely. I felt Brandon grab my arm and pull me and although I was strong I knew I wasn’t as strong as Brandon so I let him pull me “Wait Ethan!” I pleaded.

“Stop Emma! I need you safe” he growled sniffing the air his eyes were scanning the area his whole body was stiff as if ready for an attack.

“Em what’s going on?” Hannah asked as I made my way to them pulling out of Brandon’s grip.

“Nothing lets go to the car…” I say pulling them I might as well pretend I will do as they say and leave the guys in the car while I helped.

“Be careful brother and Brandon” Sophia says as we begin to walk towards the car.

Before we could even make it remotely close to the car I saw five shadow figures jump from the woods and my instincts went on full alert. I knew they weren’t my cousins I could smell that much so I grabbed a hold of Hannah and Sophia’s arms protectively. Before we could even make a move Brandon and Ethan and surprisingly Leo were standing in front of us guarding us.

“Shift back and state what you want” Ethan says with so much authority even I felt I should follow the order.

I looked over the side of Ethan’s body which covered most of mine to see who it was. One man shifted I’m assuming there leader he had black hair and was well built he looked in his 30s and menacing. He cleared his throat and grinned looking over at me eying me up and down licking his lips as his brown eyes filled with lust.

“If you hand over the females… even the human we will leave peacefully” the man said and his four werewolves growled.

“Why would we hand them to a R.o.u.g.h” Ethan says pronouncing ‘rough’ it with as much hatred and disgust he could muster.

“Because little wolf we have you outnumbered… two wolfs and a human think they can stop us?” the man asked.

“Three wolfs” I corrected letting Hannah and Sophia go walking to stand on the side of Ethan.

“Emma go back with the others” Ethan warned.

“Oh… feisty I like that” the rough spat liking his lips.

Ethan growled loudly and somehow grabbed and pushed me behind him. I wanted to push in front but I knew that for now I had to stay behind. Something told me that because of our bond I would be distracting if he was trying to make sure I was fine. Plus there was the matter that the others were powerless and a wolf could literally snap them in half.

The rough leader turned back in to a dark gray wolf and I knew the scent from earlier had come from him and his pack. I watched mesmerized as Ethan turned in to his wolf; a beautiful light silver color it was almost white. He was just as big if not bigger then the other leader and radiated strength. I saw both Ethan and Brandon wait for the others to move and it didn’t take them long but what happened next took us all by surprised another group of three jumped from behind us all.
