A/N I probably won't be doing an author's note at the end of chapters as often in the future chapters BTW BUT THANK YOU ALL FOR 2K!

Desiree's POV

"Here you guys go, two vanilla milkshakes!" Ariah said cheerfully and placed the milkshakes in front of us.

"Thank you," Mitch and I said in unison. She flashed a smile in response and pulled out straws from her apron (A/N Idk if that's what they're really called :3 someone tell me if they do know).

"Is that all you two want?" We nodded.

"Alright, I'll be back with a bill," she said before running off to the cashiers. I take out the cherry because I honestly don't know if they are edible (A/N anyone else feel that way about the cherries? They look freaking artifical, for pete's sake).

"Mmm, this is so good," I sigh as I eat the milkshake with a spoon.

"I bet that I can eat this milkshake faster than you," I dare Mitch. He smirked.

"Ooh, baby, you're on," he said and began scooping the milkshake into his mouth. But I was faster.

"I'm 'eating oo," I mumbled. He started laughing with his mouth full.

"'O 'ur 'ot," he mumbled back and swallowed. I was still going faster than him. He finally poured the whole thing into his mouth and swallowed it.

"DONE!" he screamed and slammed the cup on the table. He was shot annoyed looks, and we laughed.

"You- you have milksh-shake all over your f-face," I gasped in between laughs and he grinned, showing his milkshake coated teeth.

"Mitchell, that is nasty!" I scolded and threw a napkin at his face.

"Hey, I'm still the winner," he said smiling and wiped his face. Ariah came back with the bill, and Mitch and I fought over who would pay.

"Let me pay," Mitch insisted and pulled out his wallet.

"No, I'm going to do it," I said back. I looked up at Ariah.

"I'll be paying," I said sweetly to Ariah and she nodded. "Let me just get my wallet."

"Too late," Mitch smirks and hands Ariah the money. I glare at him, then he laughed.

"Okay, lets go back home," I said and I drank the melted part of my milkshake.

I stood up and Mitch followed me to the door. The waiter passing by me dropped a drink, and I slipped. I twisted my ankle and fell on my backside. I let out a cry of pain, but I held back tears.

"Oh my God, Desiree, are you alright?" Mitch asked with panic in his voice. I touched my ankle, and it shot pain up my leg.

"Oh, God," Mitch muttered and picked me up bridal style.

"I am so sorry, miss," the waiter repeated.

"It's fine, it's fine," I replied, my eyes shut in attempt to ignore the pain.

"Here, I'll give you a piggy-back ride," Mitch said and put me onto his back. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he walked out of Ruby's. He started to run down the sidewalk.

"Yay, go faster!" I squealed like a child. Mitch just laughed and stayed at the same pace.

"You're weird."

"The correct word is special, thank you very much," I shoot back sassily.

"Suuuure, dude, anything you want to believe," he replied sarcastically, dragging the "u" like Mat (NoochM, for the noobs).
