Amanda's day was quickly escalating from bad to much, much worse. It all started out when they went to yet another hospital for an MRI only to have the doctor say the same thing. There is absolutely nothing physically wrong with Spencer and the problem is likely psychosomatic.

This is making Spencer increasingly worried that he's having a schizophrenic break no matter how much Amanda swears he isn't and she knows that's not what this is. Call it wishful thinking or intuition but she knew that there was something wrong with Spencer and she was determined to find someone who could actually help.

Luckily, Spencer's headache was gone for now so they headed straight into work where Amanda knew Garcia was preparing a case. That's where things went from bad to worse. Unbeknownst to the two agents, Kristen had gone to the BAU to drop off Spencer's go-bag which he had left by the front door not having known it was his backup bag. When she arrived, her new best friend was nowhere to be found and neither was Amanda. She had turned to leave only to run into none other than the man she was desperately trying to avoid.

Kristen tried to make an excuse but Aaron had managed to back her into a corridor so they could talk. The corridor was still in view of the bullpen which made Kristen feel slightly safer, not that she really believed that Hotch would hurt her but then again, she didn't think he'd knock her up and abandon her either. "What do you want, Aaron? I'm busy," she lies dismissively and Aaron frowns.

"Then what were you doing here?"

"Dropping off Spencer's go-bag." This answer makes Aaron's frown deepen, much to Kristen's confusion, before he speaks.

"What's going on with you and Spencer?" Kristen frowns at the question, unsure where it's coming from.

"I'm not sure how that's any of your business," she states in a defensive tone and Aaron's frown turns into a scowl.

"It's my business because you're carrying my child," he retorts. "It's my business because I went to try and make things right the other night, to tell you that I was wrong. That I messed up and hurt you because I was too afraid to admit that I loved you and he would even let me through the door. So tell me, Kristen, what is going on between you and Reid?" He demands, not realizing that his loud words had brought the presence of his team, including the newly arrived couple.

Kristen, completely rocked by the revelation, blurts out the first thing that comes into her mind. "I'm in love with him." Aaron's eyes widen to a comical disposition and Amanda snorts, making his eyes snap up to her face which bears a cruel look. One that is, much to his surprise and confusion, cast at himself rather than her best friend.

"This seems like a fun little conversation that I'm sure you've forced," she sneers at her brother before focusing on her best friend with a look of amusement. "So is this love like a 'we can share him' kind of love or an 'if I can't have him, no one can' type of love. Because we can definitely make the first kind work right, Vegas?" She asks and Spencer, instantly knowing she wants agreement based on the now rarely used nickname, nods in agreement.

"So you're just okay with your best friend being in love with your boyfriend?" Aaron scoffs in anger, although he isn't anywhere near positive at who he is angry with.

"I already knew," Amanda lies. "She told him she loved him while I was in the shower the other day."

"Well did you know that your boyfriend shares her feelings?" He sneers and Amanda has to bite back a frown at his words before she realizes that he has made a mountain out of the molehill that was Spencer saying Kristen was someone he loved. This just makes her more determined to carry out the cruel lie.

"I did know that. That's why I said we could work it out, Aaron. Now, we have a case," she declares, turning on her heels to head to the conference room, pushing past the rest of the team to do so. Before she makes it there, Spencer catches up to her, backup go-bag in hand, and places a gentle hand on her arm.
