It's hard to admit that you need help. Most people would agree with this statement. The main reason for this is pride. There is a reason, after all, that pride is one of the seven deadly sins. That reason is that someone could be moments away from dying and still refuse to swallow their pride to ask for help. Pride isn't, however, the only thing that stops people from asking for help. Sometimes, it's fear.

Amanda had always feared asking for help. When you grow up in a house where asking the wrong question could get you beat with the metal end of a belt, you develop a mentality that it is better to do something without help and take the 50/50 shot it was right than to ask for help in that task. Perhaps that was the main reason Amanda was so hesitant to ask the young cadet for help on this case. As a matter of fact, she probably would've said no if it weren't for the fact that she was at yet another hospital with Spencer and they were quickly running out of places to go.

It wasn't as bad as it usually was. Today was actually a good day. He didn't even have a headache today but they had already made an appointment and no matter how many good days he had, the headaches always seemed to come back with a vengeance. Which is why, when Aaron called her to tell her about the case and suggested that he send Dave to ask the cadet for her help, Amanda agreed, and maybe it would be a good idea. She just had a bad feeling about it.

By the time the two young agents walk into the bullpen, Ashley Seaver is already there talking to Derek and Emily. They barely catch the end of what she's saying. "Concussion. Injury in hand-to-hand combat."

'How's the other guy?" Emily jokes.

"Oof, don't ask," Seaver returns as Amanda and Spencer approach.

"I was remediated in the academy also," Spencer states in a tone that almost sounds like he's bragging which makes Amanda shoot him an amused look.

"Agent Seaver," Rossi speaks, nodding his head to the couple. "Dr. Reid and Agent Hotchner."

"You can call me Amy," Amanda informs her. "That way you won't confuse me with Aaron." Seaver nods in confusion before turning to Spencer taking him in. She can't help but realize that he's cute and tries to make conversation.

"Um, what was your issue?" Amanda snorts.

"Aww, how cute. You assume he only had one." Spencer turns to his girlfriend with a playful frown.

"You're making fun of me."

"Yup," Amanda agrees and Spencer shakes his head with a small chuckle before turning back to Seaver.

"Ah, what was my issue? Uh, marksmanship, physical training, obstacle course, Hogan's alley-- You know pretty much anything that wasn't technically book-related. They ultimately had to make exceptions to allow me into the field."

"That's my boyfriend," Amanda says with a mocking grin, and Derek and Prentiss chuckle before Hotch cuts in.

"Agent Seaver's going to accompany us to New Mexico. As a consultant."

"Agent Seaver can offer a...unique perspective," Rossi adds.

"How so?" Morgan wonders, making Seaver frown.

"They don't know?" She asks Hotch.

"We weren't sure how you wanted to--" Without letting him finish, she turns to the team.

"Seaver isn't my original last name. It was my mother's maiden name. My name used to be Beauchamp. My father is Charles Beauchamp."

"As in the Redman Ripper, Charles Beauchamp," Reid queries and Amanda elbows him.

"Obviously, that's why she's consulting. We won't be able to tell who the killer is by profiling him so we'll have to profile the families. Agent Seaver can help us look for key behaviors." Hotch nods his head at his sister.
