After Amanda's revelation of Prentiss's predicament, she orders Rossi and Derek to go to Emily's apartment. Derek is angry at the woman he thinks of as his partner but nowhere near as angry as he was before Amanda's presentation. If he were being honest with himself, when he found out there was a connection to Doyle, he thought she had fallen for the criminal. It brought him a little peace of mind to know that everything she had done was to protect an innocent child brought up by an evil man.
While looking through her things, Rossi finds a ring in the toilet that he brings back to the BAU and shows the Hotchners. "You think she's going to go after him?" Hotch asks, and Amanda snorts.
"Have you ever met Emily? Of course she is. She thinks that she's protecting us when really, all she's doing is making us worry."
"We think she's going to Boston," Derek reveals.
"Why?"
"Because the Doyle case started there. She might be going to old haunts looking for him."
Amanda's eyes widen. "Or looking for the man that led her to Doyle in the first place. We need to get to Boston now," she commands, leaving the room to give the rest of the team the news. Before they leave, Garcia approaches them telling them that she got a hit off of one of Clyde Easter's covers and that he's on a plane to Boston. Hotch orders her to have him detained upon his landing and Amanda tells her to come with them.

When they arrive, Hotch heads into the room while Amanda waits behind the glass. On the jet ride, Garcia had been emailed surveillance video from Boston PD showing Emily failing in an attack on Doyle, only to get taken by him. Luckily, Boston PD grabbed Jack Fahey, the lower-level Irish mobster that handed Doyle over to JTF-12 in the first place.
"October 2006," Hotch begins. "'In closing, I have never worked with a finer agent than Emily Prentiss. Her skill at analyzing and predicting terrorist behaviors is unparalleled.' You said all the right things. Used all the right buzzwords. You sold her to us in the same way you sold Doyle to the North Koreans."
Easter scoffs. "Just because you know how I profile doesn't mean you know me."
"It takes a serious sociopath to betray his team like that. It shows a lack of remorse and empathy." Clyde rolls his eyes.
"She said you were one of the best. I remain unimpressed. But the one she said was the best, she's the one I'll talk to." His request takes Aaron by surprise and Amanda sucks in a deep breath.
"Why do you want to speak to Amanda?"
"Prentiss said she was the best and brightest. It wasn't until I was looking into the team she cared so much about that I realized she was even smarter than she thought. I'll talk to her and only her." Hotch looks at him before shaking his head and exiting the room. He looks at his sister, who merely shakes her head before leading him towards the viewing room of the interrogation room Rossi and Reid are in.
The two siblings watch the interrogation in silence until Fahey figures out that the woman he knows as Lauren Reynolds is a friend of theirs. "He's definitely smarter than he looks," Aaron remarks and Amanda snorts.
"Well his looks set the bar pretty low," she mutters as Fahey believes that he has all the power and assumes a smug demeanor that Reid quickly matches.
"What's he doing," Hotch asks, immediately noticing the change in the genius's body language. Before Amanda can reply, Spencer speaks.
"Let me ask you this. Do you know who helped Lauren finish up the rest of the Doyle case?"
Fahey scoffs. "Probably Easter. The two of them worked together."
"You're right but Easter called in a little...extra help from a mutual enemy of Doyle's. You might know her. Riley Glass." Just like that, Fahey pales.
