"I'm sorry for calling you, I had no one to talk to. Giselle started working, Ryujin is busy with her cafe and Yuna have classes. I don't know what to do anymore, I feel like I'll go crazy if I stay inside that unit!" Karina took a deep breath, massaging her nape while being all agitated and stuff

Yeonjun grabbed her hand, "What happened? You and Winter looked horrible today," He commented

Karina gulped, "You saw her? How is she? How's the new project? Wait since when did you start working in that company?"

Yeonjun shook his head, "I saw her, yes, before I came here we were on a conference meeting but it was halt because I said I had an emergency," He took a deep breath

"Winter looks so stressed, both with the project and you I guess? She kept staring at her phone probably waiting for you to text her or something," He sips on his drink while gazing at the spaced out girl infront

"My dad forced me to work there right when I talked to you that day," He added

Karina facepalmed herself, "Is Winter doing fine at work? You're taking good care of her right?"

"I'm not handling her at the moment, I am not her boss! She's a newbie so it'll be hard for her to gain some respect from the other employees-"

"What do you mean?" Karina obstruct, arching her eyebrows higher.

Yeonjun looked at her like he couldn't believe something, "You didn't know?"

"Just fucking tell me! I don't know shit 'cuz Winter won't tell me anything!" She grunts in frustration

"Okay, your girlfriend is aloof to all of the employees in our company! No one wants to befriend her because they don't like her aura? I don't know it's not my business!" Yeonjun shrugged

Karina slammed the table, "Winter is your damn employee what do you mean it's not your business?!"

"I told you I am not his boss! His boss is somewhere on his mid 50's, that oldie loves to yell at your girlfriend. He's always discrediting her every chance he gets, I can't wait for him to retire actually." Yeonjun almost didn't breathe while explaining

"In our 4 years together I never once yelled at Winter and that boss of hers... that motherfucker! What's his name? I'll make him suffer!" Karina fisted her hand,  feeling enraged by the information Yeonjun gave her

"Calm down!" Yeonjun sighed as he pinched the bridge of his nose

"It's a part of work!"

Karina scoffed, "Part of work? Fuck that part of work you're talking about! I'll get Winter out of that shitty company of yours!" She exclaimed

"You're a hot-headed one, aren't you? Why don't you talk to Winter first about this matter? God! You two are giving me a headache, jeez I gotta go!"

Karina pulled the hem of his shirt to stop him, "Take care of Winter for me, she loves her job; I know I wouldn't be able to convince her to retire from Soleil."

Yeonjun rubbed her back, "Yeah but she loves you too, you should talk to her if you can't bear to see her in that unhealthly environment."

"Thanks for today, Jjun." Karina forcedfully smile

"Anytime,"

....

Karina clutched her phone on her hand, fighting the urge not to text the younger for a reason that she doesn't want her ego to be stepped on.

Eyes narrowing at the wall clock it was 9pm, Winter said she'll come home as early as she can and yet there's no sign of her anywhere, not even a text or call to let the older female know that she's gonna be late.

Karina tried her best to stay awake... 10, 11, 12. She didn't know what time she fell asleep but the next thing she knew was she's being carried towards their room.

The scent was familiar, like home. She held onto her shirt tightly as if she doesn't want to let her go.

"Sorry love, I took double shifts. Carry on with your dream," Winter whispered as she slowly and carefully slumped Karina's back on their soft mattress

Karina pulled her closer, "Have you eaten?"

Eventhough the light was dim and they can barely see each other's face, Karina can sense the tiredness emitting from the younger female.

"I'll eat tomorrow, for now let's rest." Winter drowsily muttered

Karina cupped her face, "I love you. Sleep tight, I'll prepare some food so you can eat before you dash to work later,"

Winter didn't reply, a sign that she had fallen into a deep slumber of unconciousness. The girl looks so tired and tormented. If Yeonjun hadn't tell her what's happening at work she wouldn't have an idea about how terrible Winter must be feeling everytime she gets home.

She was about to trudge out of their room when Winter groped her wrist and weakly pulled her back to the bed.

"Why? Go take a rest, you look really tired." Karina ruffled the younger female's hair

Winter sat up causing Karina to be appalled. She thought the girl is half asleep, but maybe not.

The light of the moon reflected on Winter's eyes as she sadly gaze at the older female.

"I'm sorry, I know I promised I'll come home as early as I can but.. there are just too many tasks given to me," She pouted, almost on the verge of crying

Karina pouted as well as she hugged the younger tightly, "I'm so proud of you, my Engr." She whispered

Winter rested her head on the crooked of Karina's neck, "It's so hard," Her voice trembled

Karina just let her breakdown, who knew how long Winter mustered all that tears.. she poured a lot. They never once cried on each other's arms but that night was different. Both of them are bearing something heavy on their backs, and yet they chose to remain silent about it.

Too afraid to have the other be burdened about their own problems. They thought it was better that way.

True love has many obstacles, and for this couple.. neither of them were aware that these hardships they're experiencing is only the beginning.
