Three coffins in a room. Limited visitors are welcome. Event? My parents and sibling's sudden death.
I stared at the two big pictures that display my mommy and daddy's faces on the side of their coffin while the luxurious and elegant arrangement of flowers emphasized them.
“Oh my goodness, Winter! You're so adorable. Let me see, let me see again.” Mom provoked me to swim again.
My lips pouted. Daddy saw my reaction, that's why he glanced at mommy. “Wife, she's tired. We'll continue the lesson tomorrow.” He chuckled and then walked towards me with a towel in his hands.
I smiled triumphantly. “You're the best, daddy!”
He winked and then pinched my cheeks. “Winter Avianna is the best. Daddy is so proud because you're so smart.”
No tears fell on my eyes nor sob was heard from my lips. I donʼt know why I am like this. My parents were lying on their coffin, lifeless. But they're just sleeping peacefully. Any moment by now, they will be sent back to Spain. The place where they should be kept. I should be crying, right? But why are there no tears that fall?
I gently closed my eyes. When I opened it again, nothing's change. They're still in their coffin.
“Thrana, girl, you should rest.” Raia said worriedly who's just standing right next to me.
My eyes did not leave my mommy and daddy's face. Declining to speak to anyone was my routine since yesterday. I just want to watch my mom and dad. I love seeing them every now and then.
“Mom, why weren't you here last time? I just received my certificate from Harvard University.” My voice is disappointed.
But it disappeared the moment mom showed me a box of chocolates and milk. “Can these foods erase your disappointment, young lady?”
And then dad showed me a brand new white shoes. “And a pair of...new shoes? For physical education? Hmm?”
A wide smile appeared on my lips. I ran and embraced both of them! “Apology accepted, mom, dad.”
They explained to me why they were out at that time. They attended a private meeting in Los Angeles. Past two in the morning when they came back home. Before they go to bed, they visit me in my room and kiss goodnight.
“Thrana—”
“I'm not tired, Raia. Just let me stay with my mom and dad. Please...”
“But, girl... You are not yet sleeping.”
“Leave me alone.” I tried to speak calmly.
She sighed and then gave me a warm embrace from behind. “You still have us. We won't forsake you. I love you.” She whispered, then left.
Not so long after Raia left, Tito Siegfried, Tito Ace and Tito Heimdall then approached me. Tito Siegfried enclosed me in his arms and then kissed my forehead. “Rest, baby.” He whispered.
Tito Ace caressed my hair. “Let us handle this, baby.” He said gently.
And Tito Heimdall was just standing beside me but his eyes were fixed on me. I appreciate him because he booked a flight back here just to comfort me after my parents' death. He then smiled. “Go up and take a rest, baby. Trust us.”
I heaved a deep sigh then gave them a bitter smile. How can I even say no now they're three of them versus oneself?“O-Okay..”
