Invitation
"You shot the board on the its central point, baby. Nice shot," Tito Dall complimented after examining the target board I shot earlier.
"Thanks, uncle. Let me got some drinks!" I offered then ran back inside the mansion.
Seems like she was there for minutes, waiting for me.
I sat on the marble floor. "Goniara, come here. Come on, come here ... " I then signaled my ragdoll to come near me and she did. She even rubbed her head on my cheek so I laughed. "So sweet,"
She mew and then closed her eyes for a sleep. I carried her on my way back to my room. I then caressed its fur and hugged it. I closed my eyes and had a smile on my face remembering some things that had happened when I was a child with my daddy.
"Using a firearm doesn't make you tough. It is not glamorous, Winter. " Daddy stared deeply into my eyes as one knee knelt on the ground.
I nodded and pointed at the target board. "But I want to learn how to shoot, daddy." I forced him to teach me to hold a gun even though I was only twelve years old.
He chuckled and then messed my hair. "What for? I'm here to protect you and mommy, hmm? You don't need this, anyhow. "
"Daddy..please? Trust me, I'll be good in it like you do! Come on, daddy? " I still bite.
He kissed my hair and then stood up. It shook before approaching the gun he had laid down earlier. He twisted it for a moment before handing it to me, holding it first. I stared at that.
"Now listen, baby. This is a compact semi-automatic handgun..." He told me the proper way of holding a gun until it's down to last. "You have to remember that you must treat every gun as if it's loaded - down range and in a safe direction. Load the magazine completely and so the gun. Rack the slide. A round is now chambered. Hold the gun using the two-handed method described above and keep your finger off the trigger until you are... aimed in on your target."
One loud and aggressive sound from the gun I'm holding was produced after I pulled the trigger. And it's a bull's eye.
It's been five years after what happened to my parents and until now, I can't move forward. I just can't. They are my family. They taught me a lot of things that made me grow. But then, here I am, trapped. And there's no way to get out. Or so I thought?
"I miss them, Zarfa. I badly...badly missed them.."
"I-I don't know what to do anymore. Pakiramdam ko ay hindi ko na kaya-"
"Hey, stop thinking that way!" "There's another way for you to get out that pain, Thrana..."
"Tsk, woman..."
Everything around me seemed to stop when I lifted my drunken eyes at the man clinging near to my body. My breathing slowed. The corners of the eyes quickly warmed up. Is it just because of the alcohol? He's not an illusion, right?
