With astonishment, I stared at Raia as she smiled at me. She folded her arms. “You haven't told me what happened yet, Thrana. But I'm happy ... because you and Trojan are in good terms now.”
I narrowed my eyes at her as I recognized from her eyes the strange emotion that was hiding.
After closing my suitcase, I approached her. She suddenly avoids looking at me. “Somethingʼs wrong, Raia? Come on, tell me ...”
I've never seen her like this. Oh, alright! After all, we haven't really been together for the past few years because of what happened to me and my parents, didn't we?
I don’t know much about her now. To her and Adena, that until now I also do not know where she is.
“I think we should go, Thrana. You might get late on your flight... ” her voice suddenly cracked.
"What happened, Raia?" I have a serious question here.
She bit her lip before hugging me. “I can’t tell now, Thrana. I-I just want to ... endure this. All alone. Please, don't worry about me.”
I caressed her back to somehow ease her mood. I could also feel the weight on her chest. Feels like, I am a worthless friend and cousin because I don’t know what she is going through right now. I couldn't even help her.
When she got calm, she faced me again with a strained smile on her lips. "Shall we?" she asked and went out first.
I sighed. My Raia is dealing with something inevitable. Hope you get to cope with it.
“This is the final boarding call for passengers, Winter Avianna La Galliene and Fred Collins booked on flight A317 to Madrid. Please proceed to gate 3 immediately. The final checks are being completed and the captain will order for the doors of the aircraft to closed in approximately five minutes time. I repeat. This is the final boarding call for Winter Avianna La Galliene and Fred Collins. Thank you.”
“Tell mom and dad I'm fine here, Thrana.” She left a reminder for me.
I'll be late for the flight in a few minutes. We were stucked in traffic on the way here earlier and it was still a bit rainy so our car slowed down to avoid an accident.
I smiled and hugged her. “Alright. I'll see you again soon. And if you see Troy tell him I flew back.” I easily said goodbye before running into the Gate 3.
I even heard her shout. "Take care, girl!"
Exactly when Fred Collins and I boarded the plane , the doors were closed. After the pre-flight announcement, preparations for the take off were announced.
The speaker from the intercom caught the attention of us all.
“Good afternoon, passengers. This is your captain speaking....”
My forehead furrowed slightly. He sounds familiar.
“First, I'd like to welcome everyone on board in Philippine Airlines flight A317. We are currently cruising at an altitude of 33,000 feet at an airspeed of 400 miles per hour. ”
I barely glanced at the intercom. But I got nothing. My chest is throbbing. This is exactly how it feels when Troy is just around, e.
“The time is 1:30 pm. The weather looks good with the tailwind on our side...”
Hindi ko na pinakinggan pa ang iba sinasabi ng captain. May dumaan na flight attendant at kinausap ko siya.
“Uhm excuse me...”
“Yes, Ma'am?” she approached politely.
I turned to the intercom. "Who is the in-charge captain of this flight?"
