We started training full time. Evan working on his weaponry with Kieran, Tristan, and Nathaniel, and Lilith, Damion and I practising our powers. It was before school and after, and it was starting to show on us. Rose was constantly asking her sons and I why we looked so tired all the time, and we told her nothing more than we were just trying to get out and do things, enjoy life. I'm not sure if she believed us, but I couldn't help think how easier things would be if Evan just let us tell her what was going on. Perhaps find out if she knew anything about our situation. But Evan was against it, so we didn't.

"I want to know something." Nathaniel had pulled me aside while training.

"What?"

"I just...I keep thinking about seeing my dad, and I just feel like I might lose it when I do." He admitted, looking down.

"I understand. I know there's probably a lot going through your head right now." He looked up at me as I put my hand on his shoulder. "But I want you to know that we're all in this together."

"Yeah, but honestly I think you and I are in this a lot more than the others." He looked at them and then lowered his voice. "Think about it. Lilith lived the sweet life while I was locked up, and instead of helping me get out she just left me down there. And Evan, I mean....shit he literally worked for him. You don't think he wouldn't, I don't know, maybe switch sides again if Xander offered him some kind of benefit?"

"No. No!" I shook my head, and he gestured for me to keep my voice down. I scoffed. "There's no way that Evan would ditch us, and Lilith hates Xander just as much as we do."

"Come on, Yvonne. Her father was best friends with Xander, and they both did the same thing. Lazarus just sat back and let my father ruin everything that he worked for, and Lilith left me behind even though she claimed that she wouldn't leave me. And Evan still willingly hurt those people even if he made up some lie about only doing it to survive. Look, I shouldn't tell you this, but I found papers at Tiegan's house that his mom owned, and it showed that the police were hand in hand with everything going down at The Facility. That's why Evan probably doesn't want you to talk to his mom, because if you do then you might not like what you find out."

"And what could I find out?"

"Think about it."

I stayed quiet. I could feel my hands shaking, and too much was being said that I almost couldn't even comprehend what Nathaniel was saying. I thought about everything.

"Remember what you told me, Yvonne. You're still hurting over your mother, and I just feel like you're the only one I can relate to, having a parent who left you and a parent who, let's be honest here, really wasn't that great. And now you're going to see the man who took away any chance of you having any good memories with your mom. How are you just not going to want to kill him right away?"
"Nathaniel, this is too much. You're stressing me out."
"You're stressed because you know I'm right and you don't want to believe it. We're exactly the same. Who are you going to believe, people who are hiding secrets from you," he looked at the others and then back at me, "or someone who knows exactly what you're going through?"

"Well, excuse me if I'm a little hesitant to listen to someone who was best friends with one of the people who ruined my life." I nodded. "I think the people hiding secrets from me are looking for me, so if you'll excuse me."

As I walked away, he grabbed my arm to say one more thing.

"Just remember what some people are willing to do to survive. Hurting someone is one thing, betraying someone is another. You don't know what people are capable of, and your friends have shown that they don't mind leaving someone behind or hurting someone if it benefits them."

I stared at him, thinking of something to say but I had nothing. I knew deep down that I was one of those people.
