The big day had finally arrived. I was standing in Xander's office once again, talking to him about something unimportant like new training ideas. Caesar was in there too, but he wasn't talking. He didn't really have anything to say that seemed important to Xander. Dr. Evelyn was sitting next to me, not talking at all.

"I don't understand why these teenagers are so unmotivated." Xander tossed the skull back and forth.

"Unmotivated?"

"Yes, Executioner. I don't understand why the patients are so reluctant to train. I'm trying to get them to be strong, but they always complain about how they "want to go home" and "don't want to learn how to fight"." He shook his head. "Millennials."

I rolled my eyes, but he didn't see it.

"Maybe you could help motivate them."

I was trying to pay attention to what he was saying, but my heart was pounding. What would happen if I got caught? Would I be put in Containment, like Nathaniel was?

I know Xander told me that he wasn't against putting family in Containment, but just the fact that he actually had really shook me for some reason. If you couldn't tell, some of Yvonne's American slang rubbed off on me. It also made me wonder, did Xander see me as a replacement for his son?

I stayed silent until a guard came in. "Xander, our radios stopped working." He slammed it on the desk angrily. "Did you buy those cheap radios that we all told you not to?"

Caesar stood up. "Do not speak to him that way!"

"I'll talk to him how I want!"

Xander stayed in his chair, calmly tossing the skull back and forth. "Did you try turning it on and off?"

Another guard ran in. "There's a fire on the roof. There are some guards trying to put it out, but-"

"Dr. Evelyn and I will go check it out." I jumped up, rushing over to the door. "Don't worry about it. If there's something going on, I'll stop it before anything else happens."

"Thank you, Exe." Xander nodded at me. Dr Evelyn followed me out of the door.

Waiting outside was Heath and Marina. "Alright, you go meet up with Yvonne, Lilith, Damion, and Veronica. We'll go with Dr. Evelyn to the Containment Unit. We should meet back up at the entrance."

I nodded, and we parted ways. I made my way down to the rec room, as guards were running past me to get to the roof. Yvonne and Lilith were standing there, holding the bag that had all of our files and a few weapons.

"Where's Damion and Veronica?" I asked. I was worried that they got caught.

"Damion's working on the door to take us out of this hallway." Yvonne sounded like she was out of breath.

"Here, let me hold the bag." I held my hand out, but she quickly moved the bag back towards her.

"No, I'm fine. Let's just go." We quickly moved down the hall. Confused guards were hitting their radios with their hands, trying to figure out what was going on.

"We need to move faster." Lilith urged. "Damion might not be able to keep all this up."

We made it down the hall to the doors. Damion had his hand against it, concentrating.

"Hey!" A guard yelled. Luckily, at that moment, the door unlocked.

"Heath wasn't lying," Damion said as we ran down the hall. "You really can do a lot under pressure."

We made it to the entrance, but as Damion reached the door, we heard Lilith gasp.

We turned around to see Heath, Marina, and Dr. Evelyn. But they did not look like people who were about to escape. They looked like people who got caught trying to escape.
