Yvonne and I both had the same plan. We weren't going to the party. But that all changed when one afternoon, after school, I heard a loud pounding on my door. I opened my door to see Yvonne standing there, looking extremely worried.

"What's wrong?" I asked. She took a deep breath and starting talking fast.

"Nathaniel just came home and Tiegan is with him and-"

"Nathaniel brought Tiegan into my house?" My hands gripped the edges of the door.
"Why would he do that?"

Yvonne shook her head and pulled her sleeves down. "I don't know. I just know that he's down there."

"Does he know you're here?"

"He didn't see me, so I guess not."

I didn't know what exactly Tiegan had done to Yvonne. I don't know if he hit her, or what, but I knew that she stiffened up whenever he talked to her, or she saw him, or even if his name was brought up in conversation. I also knew that Nathaniel may not be such a good person. When I had first met him, in Containment, I simply thought he was a seemingly innocent, albeit cold, person who had been traumatized by his father and just wanted to get revenge on him. But after all the things he had done since I had brought him back to Ivingly were making me think that he wasn't so innocent, and he had something up his sleeve. And the last person I needed him to team up with was the son of a devious, very powerful mayor who was also working with Xander.

Did I tell Yvonne that Tiegan's mom was working with Xander? No. And that's mainly because she seemed to have enough reasons to hate Tiegan, and also as much as I disliked him, he had nothing to do with the things his mother was doing. Or so we thought, because once I had kicked Tiegan out of my house, Nathaniel had told me some interesting information.

"Tiegan, you need to get out. I don't want to be rude, but my mother doesn't really like it when people come over uninvited."

"Oh, I invited him." Nathaniel gave me a smug smile. I liked it a lot better when he didn't.

"My mother doesn't like it when people who weren't invited by someone who actually lives in the house and isn't simply staying there for an unknown amount of time come over."

Tiegan laughed. "Come on, Evan. It's not like we're throwing a party."

"Thanks for respecting my wishes. Please leave my house." I gave him a forced smile. It

was the same one I would use when I was pretending to be on Xander's side.

"Did Yvonne ask you to kick him out?" Nathaniel asked, still smiling. Tiegan made eye contact with me, a small smirk on his face.

"Nope. Yvonne isn't even here." I lied, sitting on the couch across from them.

"Really? Where is she?" Tiegan faked a frown. "I was looking forward to talking to her.

"She's been avoiding me like the plague."

"Well, no one wants to be around rats." I shrugged. "She's hanging out with her friends."

"Oh, the asian and the angry one?" Tiegan questioned, looking genuinely interested.

Nathaniel picked up a plate that was on the coffee table. I didn't even notice that it was there. I was too focused on the unwelcome guest. He put a forkful of mac and cheese and put it in his mouth.

"I'm pretty sure Lilith is Chinese."

"They're all the same." Tiegan rolled his eyes. He stood up, putting on his jacket. It was black jacket, with an AM embroidered on the right side chest. Alexander Mcqueen, of course.
