Bucky had urged you to stay behind from this mission, but you were determined not to let the demons win. The team had found the base that you had been tortured in only a few months ago. You were there for only a couple of days, but they were the worst days of your life. You had saved yourself and the team had found you in the woods miles and miles away from the well hidden base.

You refused to talk about it, concerning everyone on the team, especially your boyfriend. You almost immediately went on with life, like normal. But everyone was patient with you, waiting for you to break at any second.

Though the team was worried about you going in, they knew that Bucky wouldn't let you do anything stupid. But how could he stop you from doing anything when you two got separated soon after entering the base? He had warned the team about your separation and they were calling out to you through the comms, but you quickly crushed yours beneath your feet. You needed to finish this one your own.

"Y/N?!" Bucky and the other panicked over the comms.

"FRIDAY's completely lost her," Tony informed the team.

"And it seems that she's led us in the wrong direction," Natasha added. "The lab and the control center are not where she told us they were."

"Damn it," Bucky muttered as he finished the last of the Hydra agents around him. "We need to find her."

"I've got Redwing scanning the outside of the building," Sam told Bucky.

"FRIDAY's trying as well," Tony said.

"What the hell Y/N?" Bucky whispered to himself. "What are you thinking?"

You knew that the team would ream you for the misinformation you gave them and for going dark. But you had to. This wasn't something any of them could do for you. This was something you had to do for yourself.

It should have been surprising how well you remembered the facility, especially after only spending a few days in it and mainly being locked in one room. You shuddered at you thought of that room. The screams, tears, and blood of yours that coated the room still haunted you at night. You actually hadn't slept since you had been brought home. But Bucky didn't know that. In fact, no one knew this, or so you thought. You were determined to change that though. And putting an end to those who hurt me would to exactly that. At least, that's what you believed.

You made sure your gun was ready as you came towards the door that you had been held in. You were completely stupid. You knew that the man who had tortured you would go there after finding out you and the Avengers had arrived. Taking a slowly, deep breath, you pushed open the door. Your hand snapped up to aim your gun at the man in the center of the room.

The room still had the same stench it did when you were being kept here. And the chains that you had broken free of still hung from the ceiling.

"I knew you would come back," the man taunted, facing away from you. "They always do. They want to finish me off. But they're never able to."

"Well I'm not like them," you growled, slowly rounding the man. You were desperately trying to suppress the tremor that was bubbling from your hand.
