I opened the door of my black room with neon stars all over the walls. I ran to my

bed. What the heck just happened? I thought, trying to forget how creepy it was.

“Saber! Time for dinner!” my mom called from down the stairs.

“I’m not hungry!” I called back, lying though my teeth. I was starving, but I couldn’t get the whole situation out of my head. Food wasn’t on my mind at the time.

“You sure? I made spaghetti, you love spaghetti!” my mom replied from downstairs.

“SPEGHETTI!!” Teddy yelled, and I heard the sound of spaghetti being flung on the walls.

“I’m sure!” I called back. I stuck my face in my pillow, about to scream but something stopped me.

“Saber.” Not again. “Saber.” The voice grew louder.

“What!?” I said, a little annoyed.

“Saber, I’m back to tell you more,” said the voice.

“Well that was quick, it hasn’t even been 5 minutes," I retorted.

“Only you can save us,” said the voice, ignoring me. “You’re destined to save the world.”

“Ummm, I think you got the wrong Saber, how am I supposed to save the world? I’m not 'special' like Superman," I replied.

“Oh, but you are special," the voice protested. “How do you think you have light blue hair? No one in your family has blue hair.”

“What does hair have to do with anything? So what I have blue hair, big whoop.”

“That’s just it, who else in the world has light blue hair naturally?”

I looked around my empty room, confused.

“What’s with you and hair?” I said finally.

“Like I said, you’re a Power Gem,” it said.

“Okay, what the heck is a “Power Gem” anyway?” I asked.

“A Power Gem is a holder of a power, you happen to be an ice Power Gem," explained the voice.

“Ice?” I said.

“Yes, ice, there are more Power Gems out in the world too,” The voice said,

sounding kind of like a schoolteacher.

“So what do you want with me? Who the heck are you?” I demanded.

“I’m Luna, and I’m here to gather up Power Gems to save the world before it’s too late.” As

I was listening, a girl with short yellow curly hair appeared in the middle of my room

wearing a white dress.

“What are you?” I asked.

“I’m Luna, as I said before and I’m an angel.”

“Angel? Yeah, right!” I said. “Where are your wings and halo? Like in books, aren’t you supposed to

have those?”

“Of course I have wings, how do you think I travel? And the halo? That’s

a myth. People just made that up to make us look more holy,” explained Luna, having no

expression on her face. “You have wings as well Saber, all Power Gems have wings.”

“I have wings?” I said, looking behind me to see if anything was on my back, only to see nothing unusual. “I don’t see any.” I felt as though I'd just gotten lied to.

“Yes you do,” Luna insisted, and she raised her hand and sparkles fell from

her fingertips. Yes, sparkles. Cheesy right? “Now look behind you.” As she said that,

she unfurled her white wings. I looked behind me to see golden wings unfolding from

behind me.
