Power Gems

Chapter 29

The sun slithered its way into the cave and beamed on my face. I opened my eyes then quickly shut them because of the brightness. I bolted straight up in horror, not knowing what time it was. I crawled over to Jason who was still fast asleep on the cave floor and shook him awake. "Jason, Jason, get up!" I said in his ear. Jason groaned and slowly opened his eyes. He sat up an looked at me, his eyes grew large and then began to laugh to himself. "Whats so funny?" I asked him. "Looks like someone got hungry in the night." Said Jason. "What?" I said and felt my face, there was something fuzzy on my cheek. I took it off to look at it and there was a rat leg in my hand. I screamed at the top on my lungs in horror. Everybody in my group woke up, startled, and began asking me whats wrong. I held out the rat leg to show them, but they simply laughed at me.

I stood up and began to brush off the dirt on my clothes. Everyone else did the same, We grabbed all of our supplies and began flying again. It seemed like hours we were flying until something caught my eye, it looked like a village! "Guys look! A village!" I said happily, everyone was very excited to finally stop flying. We came closer and closer to the village, from what it looked like, it was a Asian village. Are we in Asia? We landed at the front entrance and walked inside, there was barley anybody here. We looked around for... well anything actually.

We stopped in the center of the village and still no one was around. I was about to give up and tell the gang that we would have to keep flying when we hear, "Hello?" It sounded old, but sweet, I turned my head to see and elderly Asian women with dark red hair tied into a tight bun and black eyes was walking up to us. "Hello," I replied back in my nicest voice possible. She stopped walking right in front of me and was a little to close for comfort. She then said, "Are you Saber Skyfield?" I was shocked, I have never met this women in my life and she already knows who I am. "Y-yes..." I answered weakly. The elderly women's eyes shined bright and she smiled, "And your the ice Power Gem I assume?" She said. "Y-yes," I answered again weakly. "Come with me quickly! I know what you need to save your friend." She began to pull my arm when I yanked it back. "Look lady, I don't even know you and you suddenly know everything about me? That sounds every odd to me, I don't even know if I can trust you." I said. "Just come with me, and I'll explain everything." The elderly women said, I was about to reject when Zoie came up from behind me and said, "Sure we'll come with you." and began pushing me to where the women was leading us.

We stopped at a small building that had strange lettering on the large doors. The old women push the doors open and signaled us to come inside. I walked in first, I was dumbfounded, it looked like a fortune teller shop. The old women stopped in the center of the large room and turned to us. "I am Ms. Mizu, and I am a physic, that's how I knew you and your situation and I can help you." Ms. Mizu explained to us. "Physic my butt! You're just a stalker, We're leaving!" I said and I headed for the door. Jason grabbed my arm and pulled me back, "Just listen, she might be telling the truth." Jason said calmly with straight eyes and then let me go. Some how I didn't argue with him, the sound of his voice when he said that scared me a little, I've never heard Jason like that.  I nodded and stood and listened to what Ms. Mizu had to say.

"All five of you are Power Gems, correct?" Ms. Mizu said.

We all nodded.

"Good, do you guys even know what a Power Gem is?"

"A Power Gem is a holder of power." I said remembering when I first met Luna in my room and she scared me half to death.

"You're right but there is more, you see you all have a certain power, powers of nature. Saber: Ice, Jason:Fire, Zoie:Lightning, Brock:Earth, and Chrissie:Physic. You all have been given very important powers, but there are more of you, but they are hidden from the Earth, stored away where no one can find them. You five are the only ones that aren't hidden from the world. You were chosen among The Great Ones to save us all."

"But, who is Blackout and why does he have Luna?" Chrissie asked.

"Ah, Blackout, he is a Power Gems just like you, he is the Power Gem that can control darkness, many thought that this power would become useful in fighting evil, but Blackout saw it differently. His power could control anything evil and make it do anything he commands. He found out that instead of fighting evil everyday of his life that he could just control the world itself. By using his powers, he created Shadow Lurkers, he can control them  to his will. He uses Shadow Lurkers to consume people into the darkness so that he may control all. The Great Ones saw what he was doing with his powers and banished him the Power Gems Legacy. The world hasn't seen him in over 20 years. Now he is back... for revenge."
