Power Gems

Chapter 23

The high pitch scream scared me so much that I bit Jason’s lip hard that it slightly started to bleed.  I hurried and stood up on the grass and looked for any sign of anybody.  I wasn’t successful; Jason stood up and started to look around with me.   It was getting darker by the second and when it gets darker it gets colder and I was in a navy blue t-shirt and black jeans. 

I started to shake and Jason saw that I was shaking.  He put his arm around my neck and pulled me closer to him.  His hard chest was so warm that I forgot about the scream.  I put my head his chest and he put both arms around me to keep me warm.  I felt so safe in his arms that I never wanted to leave.

I looked up at him and he was focused on looking into the woods.  I remembered about the scream and quickly lifted my head from his warm chest and looked into the woods as well.

 I looked up into the trees and something caught my eye.  A strange figure was sitting on a branch high in a tree.  I squinted and my eyes grew wide.  I pushed away from Jason and punched the air at the figure.  The figure hurried and jumped off the branch and onto the ground. 

Blackout emerged from the shadows from the trees.  “Missed me.” He said brushing off his shoulders.  His voice was colder then before.  “I won’t miss this time.” And I punched the air again and an ice blast emerged from my fist and head toward Blackout.  He held out his hand, the ice blast hit his held out hand.  The ice blast broke immediately it touched his hand. My powers had no effect on him.

“Nice try, but you can’t touch me.” Blackout said with an evil smirk.   Then, Jason out of nowhere punched his fist in the air and a huge wave of fire came out of his fist and hit Blackout in a flash.  Blackout took a step back from the blast and said, “You’re good kid, but not that good.” And he ran toward Jason and me. 

Ina second Blackout’s face was right in front of mine. “Boo.” Blackout said that I felt his breathe on my face.  I cringed and stepped back.  “Oh sweet Saber, I’m not here for you, oh no.  I’m here for him.” Blackout said pointing at Jason. Jason’s eyes widen.  “You see darling, he was The Dragon’s Breath protecting him and I want it.”

“You’re not taking Jason!” I yelled and punched Blackout in the gut.  “Oh my, you’re really tough for a little girl.” Blackout said slightly laughing.  “You haven’t seen anything yet.” I said glaring at him.  I turned my head to look at Jason and he was just standing there, frozen.  A second ago he was holding me tight protecting me and now he can’t even look at me. 

“Saber no!” I heard Jason scream and he reached for me.  I felt a sharp pain in my stomach.  I didn’t know that Blackout pulled out a knife with purple liquid and stabbed me in the stomach.  The pain got stronger and stronger as blood poured right out of me.  I turned and saw Blackout out right in my face and he was smiling very wide.  In a flash I was Jason’s fist connect with Blackout’s face.  Blackout let go of the knife and stumbled backwards and kept the knife in me.

I was standing there, dazed as my world started to go black.   The pain grew sharper and sharper and my breathing started to speed up as I tried to stay alive.  My knees bent and I fell on the dark green grass and was trying to breath. 

I looked up and saw Jason and Blackout fighting, I tried to get up and help but the pain overwhelmed me.  “Jason,” I said, but my voice was only a slight whisper.

 “Saber!” I heard Jason say and he come running towards me.  “Where’s Blackout?” I said loud enough he could hear me.  “He’s gone for now, hurry we need to get you to the tree house.”  He helped me up but realized I couldn’t stand.  He picked me up and he spread out his wings.  He kicked off the ground and started flapping, I could tell he was flying as fast as he could because my hair was flapping all over the place.

We made it to the tree house, “Guys come here now! Saber is stabbed!” Jason yelled and in a second I saw Zoie in the hallway with her hands on her mouth.  She ran over to me. “Are you okay Saber?” she asked.  I gave her a look saying, “of course I’m not okay! I got stabbed and there’s poison inside me!” 

Jason walked over to the couches and layed me down.  The knife was still in me keeping any more blood for spilling out but was also the main source of the poison.  “What should we do?” I heard Brock say, as he got closer to the couch.  “Where’s Luna?” Zoie asked looking around.  My world got more and more black and the muffled voice started to cease.  “Saber please stay with me.” Jason said, and it was the last thingi heard before my entire world went dark.
