The morning sun poured light into my room. The light hit my face and I woke up. I sat up in bed and saw Scribbles curled up in a ball around my feet. I patted his head and he woke up and lifted his head. His eyes were still closed but he was looking at me.
I pulled the covers off and headed out of my room. Right as I left my room it hit me-Zoie. Oh crap! I thought and bolted toward the living room. I found Zoie laying on the couch still all twisted up. I patted her head to wake her up. “Come on Zoie, wake up.” I said still patting her head. She grunted and shot up.
“What happened?” she asked. I explained everything to Zoie, leaving out Jason and I being together. I knew better then to tell Zoie that, I knew I’d never hear the end of it.
“Blackout?” she said, I nodded my head. Zoie burst into laughter. “What’s so funny?” I asked, “Blackout…ooo so scary!” she said waving her hands in the air. I thought about it for a moment and started laughing too.
Jason came into the room, “What’s going on?” he asked and I looked at him, I laughed even harder. “Bed-head much?” I asked him; his hair was literally sticking straight up from his head. Jason cheeks turned red and he ran over to the fountain and looked in the water. He out his hand on his head and tried to put his hair in its natural place. He succeeded, and walked over to Zoie and me. “Now what’s so funny?” he asked and sat right next to me.
We told him how Blackout’s name is funny. He didn’t really get it but he chuckled and walked into the kitchen. “Let’s get some breakfast.” I said and helped Zoie up. We both walked into the kitchen with Jason. I pulled out a box of Cocoa Puffs and poured them in a bowl. I got the milk and poured it into the bowl. I got a spoon and started eating my cereal.
“So Zoie do you know that-.” I quickly put my hand over his mouth. “Ssshhh! She doesn’t know and if she figures out that we’re together I’ll never hear the end of it!” I whispered to that Zoie couldn’t hear. I pulled my hand away from Jason’s mouth and began eating cereal again. I looked at Zoie and she looked very confused, then she smiled really big. Oh crap… “I know what’s going on, you two are dating aren’t you?” she said raising an eyebrow.
Jason and I both looked at each other. “That’s silly.” I said eating my cereal faster. “Yeah, where did you get that from?” Jason said sounding just as guilty as me and took a bite of toast. “You can’t fool me.” She said her high voice getting louder. I finally snapped. “Okay fine! You caught us! Happy now?” I yelled at her and slammed my hands on the table and stormed off into my room.
“Saber!” Jason called after me. He grabbed my wrist and pulled me to face him. “Saber, it’s okay its just Zoie.” Jason said, “I know, have you met the girl? She’s not going to let me hear the end of it!” I yelled at him and pulled my wrist out of his grip. He grabbed my arm again and pulled me harder and hugged me. “It’s okay.” He said softly in my ear. “Your right, I’m over reacting.” I said confessing. We walked back to the kitchen to see Zoie making googely eyes at Jason and me. I turned to Jason and cocked my eyebrow. Jason smiled weakly.
We finished breakfast and I head to my room to get into something other then my PJ’s. I walked in and Scribbles was still lying on my bed asleep. I got out of my nightgown and put on a black long-sleeve shirt and mid night blue jeans. I wrapped my hair in my original pigtails and walked out of my room.
“Saber, Jason and Zoie come to the living room, hurry!!” I heard right as I exited my room, it was Luna. I ran to the living room and Zoie and Jason came from behind me. “We have to hurry and find the other Power Gems before Blackout finds us again.” Luna said sounding worried.
