Chpater 12

“What?” I said turning around to see Jason’s face, he looked really hurt.  “When I was little, my father took me with him to the woods.  He said he had a surprise for me.  I was very excited, my father stopped and told me to stay put so he could get the surprise.  I waited there for a moment.  He came back with a bow and arrows, he knew how much I liked archery, and he even got me targets to shoot at.  After while I smelled smoke, I told my dad, he said somebody must have been camping nearby.  

 “We continued shooting at the targets.  The sky started getting dark, I looked up to see a huge cloud of black smoke hovering above us.  We started running, my dad noticed that I have left my bow and arrows.  I told him that it was fine that I left them but he ignored me. 

“He ran back to get them.  Next thing I knew I heard screaming, it was my dad, he had been burned alive trying to get my bow and arrows till this day no one knows who started that fire. I loved my dad, but he was stupid to go back” When Jason said that I saw a tear run down his cheek, his shaggy red hair covered his eyes. 

“Jason… I-I didn’t know.” I said feeling sorry.  “I don’t know what it’s like to loose a family member.”  I said looking down at my feet.  What have I done? I thought to myself.  Luna stood there expressionless, did she even care?

I walked over to Jason; he still had that one tear on his freckled cheek.  I couldn’t see his eyes.  I tilted up his head.  He looked at me with hurt.  What could I do?  I smiled at him; he gave a little chuckle and looked down at his feet again. 

“I’m sorry,” I said in a low voice.  “It’s fine, you didn’t know,” Jason said his voice cracking a little.  I tilted up his head again. He sniffed, and his eyes teared up. I closed my eyes and leaned in and kissed him like, lip on lip kiss. I felt his hand on the back of my head and under my blue hair.

 Ok I know what your thinking, I did it because I felt bad for him, I just wanted to show him that someone was there for him, ok?  I guess know our relationship will be different; maybe I for once can have a friend, cheesy, I know, I’ve never had a friend before and I’m not good with people if you haven’t noticed. 

Jason and me stayed in the kiss for a while, until I noticed what was happening.  I pulled back.  Jason looked at me, I quickly looked down, and my cheeks were burning like crazy.  I started walking away when I heard Jason say, “Thank you Saber for being there for me.”

I turned around to look at Jason.  His face was, well, not sad anymore.  I didn’t know Jason very well but at that moment, it felt like we were best friends.  I smiled and continued walking back to the tree house.  I past Luna, I saw her face, it looked…jealous?

Chapter 12

I spread out my wings and started flapping; I headed up and went forward to the tree house.  This time I didn’t hit a freaking tree branch.  I got inside of the enormous room and ran to my room.  I opened the door and ran to my bed.  I laid in bed, my face in my black pillow after a few seconds and I heard a little bark. 

I looked up and saw Scribbles in my doorway.  I looked at him and he looked back at me.  He came running up to my bed and jumped up right next to me.  My head was spinning, what does Jason think?  What would happen next?

“Saber?” I heard from outside of my room.  It sounded like Jason.  I got up from my bed and hurried and shut the door.  I was to confused to speak to anyone, the only one I wanted to talk to was Scribbles, but he can’t talk. 

“Saber?” I heard Jason say again knocking on my door.  “Yeah?” I answered back trying to sound stupid.  “You okay?” I answered backing in a hush voice. “I don’t know… maybe?”   “Well training isn’t over yet, come on we have to train more if we want to beat Shadow Lurkers.”  Jason said his voice back to normal. 

I opened my door to see him standing there.  “Can we pretend nothing happened?” I asked sounding more stupid then ever.  “Sure,” He said with that smirk of his.  I smiled and Jason, Scribbles and me went back to the waterfall. 

Luna was standing there waiting for us.  I looked up at Jason who was about 4 inches taller then me, the sun behind him was going down, the perfect shade of orange shined over him.  I hurried and looked away and my cheeks burned again. 

“Lets get started,” I said looking back up at Luna and feeling like myself again.  Luna actually smiled and nodded.  Yes, Luna smiled, scary right? Scribbles barked and wagged his tail.  Torch came up from behind and landed and Jason’s head and gave out a screech.  Jason and I looked at each other and nodded at the same time “Alright, lets do this.” I said spreading out my golden wings, looking away from Jason to see Luna smile again and spreading out her white wings.
