Greenwoods.

"Ian-- Just leave me here and run… I'll hold the vampire," Yael says, as he and Ian run from the rampaging vampire.

Ian ignored him and kept running forward. "I hear humans ahead, use them to restore your strength… I'll hold the vampire"

He puts Yael back down. "Go, I've got this…"

Ian turns back to face the direction the vampire's coming from. He transforms into a Herid again and roars.

The vampire appears in front of him. "The way you transform without getting tired is magnificent"

"You should have ran… now I'll have to kill you-"

Before the vampire could finish his sentence, Ian lifts him off his feet and slams him against a tree destroying it down. He picks one of the stakes and aims for his chest.

The vampire place his palms out and the stake went through because of the speed of the Herid. He groans as it pushes the stake deeper with immense strength.

The Herid lets go of the stake and digs its fangs into the vampire's neck while piercing its claws dip into his abdomen.

The vampire screams and punches the creature away. It falls to the ground but quickly gets to its feet, lunging at the vampire. He pulls the stake out and stabs the herid in its neck, he then kicks it to the ground.

It transforms back into its human form. "I must admit I didn't see that coming." the vampire says.

"I know, I'm getting faster… n-now you'll die in no more than twenty-four hours," Ian says, laughing mischievously.

The vampire chuckles and walks up to Ian. "You do know there's a cure for your poison right, Which means, you ferals can't kill us anymore"

"We can't kill you with our poison anymore, but we can kill you normally"

Before the vampire could speak, Yael in his Herid form grabs his arm and fling him high into the sky.

He turns back to his human form and kneels beside Ian. "Are you okay?…"

"Yeah… I'm fine-- Get us out of here"

Dave's POV

Greenleaf high.

"Still don't get why Brian wouldn't just walk in… how hard is it?" Eric says as we watch the school's basketball players play.

"Tee says he's very religious and won't walk in unless he gets invited in," I say, mimicking Tee.

Eric shakes his head. "Pretty sure that's not a thing. Anyways, how's your leg… aren't you suppose to be in there?"

I tap my now-healed knee. "It's all healed… and I only got in the other day cause their player was injured. And… I was practically useless then"

"I mean… you couldn't get past me, and I don't play…"

We both laugh and continue watching the match. After a while, they went on a break. "Hey… keep my spot safe, let me get us something to drink"

"Sure…"

I pull out my phone and dial Eleanor's number. My finger lingers on the call button, wondering if I should call. I sigh and hit the button.

Suddenly, there's a buzz coming from next to me. I turn to see Eleanor sitting beside me. "I was wondering when you'll call," She says, smiling.
