Chapter 29: You too

She launches forward at full speed.

"I've waited my whole life for this…" Brian said as he lunges forward too.

He blocked Kate's attack and throws his fist at her, aiming for her face. She pulls back just in time for his hand to swing past her face. "You're strong… Impressive"

"What?… You were expecting me to be as I was in the faction? I was only holding back then… now's different"

He suddenly appeared in front of her, holding her head and shoulder. He throws his head back as his teeth evolved into fangs.

Before he could dig in, Kate lunges the stake into his mouth. He gurgled as she pushed deeper. "Err… eeek…" He groans, pulling the stake out.

"So was I back then…"

She grabbed him by his neck and fling him into a nearby tree. Still holding him, she raises him off his feet and stomps him onto the ground.

Kate stood up and begin to stomp her feet on his face. She continues until his face was covered in blood. "Is that all you've got?…" Kate says. "Surr should be awake by now…" she adds.

Brian stands to his feet. He spat out blood and groaned. "You've always underestimated me, Kate…"

He roars and charges at her. Kate throws her fist at him. He dodged and dig his hand into her chest.

She holds his hand before he could go any deeper. "You annoying brat…"

He chuckles as he stomps his head against Kate's. They both fall back, writhing in pain.

Brian picked up the stake he was previously stabbed with. He rolled over to Kate and raise his hand aiming to stab her in the chest.

She uses her hand to block the attack, with the tip of the stake pointing at her chest. Being stronger than him, she throws him off of her. "I'm older than you Brian, you can't win"

He stands and smiles. "It doesn't matter, I don't have to win. I'm only holding you so you won't get to Eleanor… she should have met with Dave by now"

Kate furrows. "That doesn't matter, I'll just kill you, her, and that so-called first vampire. And what good is it if she meets up with them"

She runs at Brian. He thrust the stake forward, but she held his hand and pull out a stake from her back.

She thrust it forward to stab him. He jumps and kicked her away from him. They both land on the ground breathing heavily.

Kate inhales deeply before exhaling. "Remember the promise I made to you?…"

"About stabbing me in the chest with a stake and throwing me off a cliff?"

Kate nods and smiles. "You have great memory… well look around you, it's a cliff and I have a stake with me…"

She charged at him again. Brian throws the stake he was holding. As she reached close to him, he uses his entire force and stomp her to the ground. She groans, surprised that he was able to lift her.

Brian digs his finger into her eye. She screams and pushes him away. "I can't see a thing…" she says crawling away.

"This is what happens when you underestimate me"

He picked the stake up and walk towards her.

She groans. "U-Unlike yo-you… my healing skills work pretty well"

She swiftly stands and lunges at him.

Kate stabbed the stake into his chest. "Argh…" Brian screams as blood gushed out his mouth.
