Chapter 22: The Truth

Dave's POV

"I'm going to look for him," I say, putting on my jacket.

He turns his back to me. "Whatever you want to do"

I hiss and walk out of the house, heading directly to Greenleaf high. Some moments later I arrived at the school. I called Eric's phone again but still no answer.

"Eric... you in there?" I called out.

Suddenly, a voice calls out from ahead. "I figured you'll come by"

"Who are you?..." I ask, walking in the direction of the voice.

I arrived at a door, which is slightly opened. I push the door open and walk in.

I gasps to see Eric tied down to a chair with blood dripping down his mouth and nose and stains of blood all around him. "H-Hey Dave... there's so much I have to learn about vampires right?" He struggles to say.

Franklin emerges from the shadows grinning wickedly. "Don't worry about him, I only drained his blood out... he'll eventually heal" he says.

I clench my fist and frown. "Franklin... I'll kill you"

"Let's not get ahead of ourselves here... You don't want your friend dead do you?" He says, digging his hand into Eric's back.

Eric screams.

"Ah... I'm already touching his heart, this is getting messy"

"Get your hand off of him"

He laughed, his hand still on Eric's back. "You know, I have been following you and that Brian kid for so long, specifically Brian... from the day he turned to a vampire, to when he turned against the faction"

"What do you know about Brian?" I ask.

He smirks. "I do know who turned him"

"But that's not what you should be worried about" He adds.

Eric screams. "You're a vampire, don't lie... I heard them speak about you. And I was whispering but you heard me"

"What do you want?..."

I could hear him moving his hand deeper into Eric's back, he will kill him if I try anything stupid. "They say you're an original vampire, true?"

"Then you know it's foolish to pick a fight with me," I say.

He laughs. "I'm not scared of you, Dave"

Suddenly, Eric gasps sharply. "Oops, I think I grabbed his heart"...

"No," I scream.

My eyes turn completely red as I lunge at him. He tried to run but I grab him and hit him to the wall with full force.

He pushes me back and swiftly picks up a stake and stabs it in my chest. I gnar and stomp his head continuously on the wall.

He falls to his knees, bleeding from the back of his head. "I must admit, I didn't expect you to be this strong"

I pull out the stake and raise his head to look deep into his eyes.

"I'm going to say this once, stay away from me and my friends... and go somewhere far away from this town, never return to Greenleaf again," I say, compelling him.

He frowns. "You didn't just compel me... no. No,"

"You brought this on yourself Franklin," I say, walking out of the place with Eric.

Somewhere in Greenleaf.

Ava kicks Poppy to the ground. "Then I'll just have to kill you, Poppy"

Poppy spat some amount of blood on the ground. "I said this before, and I'm saying it again... I am done doing your dirty work. I lost a very close friend cause of you... and Abby has left Greenleaf high. I will not help you with anything anymore"
