Somewhere not in Greenleaf.

"Dad, tell me a story…" a boy laying in his bed ask his father who was sitting beside him.

The father dropped what he was holding and turned to his kid. "What kind of story son??"

"Anyone will do dad"

He nods and placed his palm on the boy's chest. "A long long time ago, a witch created some monsters to help her fight her enemies"

"The monsters did as they were expected but went rampage after killing all the enemies, they went on killing innocent lives. This angered the witch and she ordered them to stop… but they did not, they claim that they are now stronger than the witch herself and would rule the world"

The child gasped. "That's evil, right dad?…"

His father nodded and smile. "Out of anger, the witch locked down one of the monster's power but didn't have enough strength to lock the other, so she sent him to sleep. But the monstrous power passed down the generation of this monster and eventually, the power was awoken again"

"But this time… it was a good man, he fought to stop those who were trying to free the other monster that was put to sleep"

The boy smiled. "Did he win dad?…"

The father fixes the boy's blanket. "That's a story for another time son… you need to get some sleep right now"

Somewhere in the world.

"I must say, living forever is a little boring. Especially when you know everything about the world…" Annabel says to Surr.

He nods. "Indeed, sometimes I wish I could just… die"

Annabel furrowed and turn to Surr. "You better wipe that feeling from your mind. Till we make this whole world ours, you cannot die…"

"But you just said the same thing I did…"

Annabel shakes her head. "No… I said being immortal is boring not I want to die… two different things"

Surr nodded and they both remain quiet for a while. "You know, without Helen, everything just seems… different. She should have followed us, we would have done this together"

Surr turns to Annabel. "Don't you ever feel guilty about what happened to her?… She's your sister after all"

Annabel stared at her palm as her eyes watered. "H-Honesty I do…" she said, with a crack in her voice. "Anyone would fill guilty for killing their loved ones, but it is what had to be done…" a drop of tear suddenly dropped on her palm.

She folds her hand and smiles, tilting her head away from Surr. "This is no time for regret, we have to be prepared for anything that'll happen next"

Surr places his hand on her shoulder. "It's fine Annabel…"

"Do you think Helen told us the whole truth?… You know, I doubt she'll only make us both the original vampires…" Annabel ask.

"Well, it's been years since our transition, it's just the two of us"

Annabel sighs. "I'm worrying too much…"

She stopped for a moment before she continued. "I had this dream, that in a time to come- it wouldn't be me you'll be with anymore, but a different man," Annabel says. "I want you to promise me, that when the time comes you will do everything you can to see our mission fulfilled"

"I promise…"

"Are you okay Athena?…" Dave asks while kneeling next to her.
