Chapter 7: Surr Faction

Greenleaf high.

Dave's POV

"Crap..." I say out loud, as my phone almost falls off my hand the moment I pulled it out from my pocket.

I have been walking through the school's hall for the past three minutes, and I swear someone's been following me.

It's late at night, the school is empty, I only stayed because I had some really urgent things to take care of. But now I'm regretting my choices.

My hand shivers as I tap my phone. Unable to type anything, I turn back to see what was following me.

"Huh..." I say as I saw nothing behind me.

The instant I turn back, there was a figure standing in front of me. I screamed and jump back, moving away from the person.

As the person walks up to the light, I finally realized who it was. "Brian? Were you following me?" I ask.

"Yeah well... I would have met with you earlier but I figured now will be the best time"

"I'm not having any conversations with you Brian," I say.

He smiles. "Oh yes you will"

He pulls out the previous scroll and faces it at me. "What do you see?"

I look at the scroll and then back up at him. He raised an eyebrow waiting for my reply. "Well, it looks like some kind of map, leading to a cave. I think"

He folds the scroll. "Great, you're coming with me"

"No, I'm not..." I denied.

"Or else I'll kill everyone you've ever known, and then I'll kill you too," he says while smiling.

Before I could process anything, he placed a sack on my head, stopping me from seeing anything but darkness.

I raised my hand to remove the sack but he grabs and tie down my hand. "What the hell are you doing?"

"Taking you by force," He says before pulling off the sack from my head. "Just stay calm and nothing will happen to you," he says, raising me off my feet. He placed me on his shoulder.

After a while, we stopped. I could perceive the stench of blood filling my nose but I couldn't see anything as I wasn't facing where he was. But I do know that we are in a place with a lot of trees.

"Are you going to kill me here?" I queried.

"Nothing of that sort is going to happen" he replied.

He puts me down on the ground. I turned to see a huge building in front of us. He pushed me forward into the building.

I looked around the room to see lots of people, and blood dripping from their necks as some other men bite their necks. "W-What the hell is this?" I asked while taking some steps back.

I tripped over something, but Brian swiftly grabs me before I fall to the ground. My head becomes dizzy as I take it all in. "What are you, people?" I ask.

He places his hand on my shoulder. "So, have you heard of vampires?" Brian asks.

I nod. "I-I've read comic books a-about it," I say, with a shaking voice.

"Don't be scared Dave... as long as you don't bleed, they won't even notice you"

They all suddenly turn to me, their eyes filled with hunger. "Or maybe not…"

After a while, Harold, an older man, and a female walk in.

"Y-You too?..." I stammer. My voice and body shake endlessly.
