Chapter 26: Chase down

Leah, Kate, and Surr sat in a room. Kate rests her back on a wall just next to the door, while Leah sits next to Surr. "You promised to show me how you feed," Leah says.

Surr smiles. "Our way of feeding is rather painful and it brings our prey suffering…"

She placed her hand on his jaw. "Don't say that… you're not a predator. Unlike the Herids you do this for the good of the world"

Surr placed his hand over Leah's. "We are no different from the Herids… Clawed monsters that feed on humans"

"Enough with the talks… just show me," Leah said.

Kate stomp her feet on the ground. "You must have gone mad or something. I'm not about to watch you get yourself killed by the monster…"

"Kate… you will leave us alone now," Leah says, and Kate angrily storms out of the house.

She turned back to Surr and pulled her sleeve over her wrist. He smiled as he dig his fangs into her wrist.

Leah groaned in pain as he tightened his grip biting deeper into her wrist. She let out a soft moan.

He pulled back and cleaned the blood off his lips. "If I continue you may end up dead," He says.

"I do not mind dying while giving my blood to you"

He laughs and stands from where he was seated. "What do you say… becoming a vampire too"

"I don't think I want that…" Leah rejected.

"As a vampire, you will live forever… by my side. And together we would achieve great things"

Leah stammered. "Y-You… not long ago you were warning me about the bad side of being a vampire, and h-how will I get a daylight ring?"

"Perhaps I lied because your sister was here… being a vampire comes with great things. I have a witch friend, she will make one for you if I asked her to"

Leah moved her lips without saying a word. "I-I…"

"I'll let you dwell on it…" He says before walking out of the house.

Meanwhile, Kate angrily storms out of the house, murmuring different words to herself. She walked into the woods as she usually does every noon, still murmuring words.

She stumbled over a stick and suddenly, a mild growl came from behind a tree. She picked up the stick that was lying on the floor and creep around the tree. "Who is there?…" She asked, putting the stick up in front of her.

Kate gasps as she caught sight of a Herid, ripping the head of a lady out. She falls to the ground and screamed for help.

The Herid turns and slowly walked up to her. She shivered as it drew near. She's never been face to face with a vampire and now at the moment, it's so terrifying. She was so frightened that she couldn't do anything.

Before the monster gets rid of her, Annabel appeared and pulls its heart out. The monster screeches before falling to the ground lifeless.

Kate draws back as the creature lands directly in front of it. In just a few moments, it transformed into a human body.

She gasps as she stands to her feet.

"Worry not my dear… I will not harm you. We only came here to stop these creatures from destroying the world" Annabel says.

Kate clears her throat. "We do not need your help… we have fought this monster by ourselves. We don't need your help, we'll survive ourselves" she bickered.
