Chapter 23: Where There is Trouble

Dave's POV

"What's going on… y-you were supposed to kill him Harold says, pointing at Brian.

Brian dropped the glass on a table. "This is awkward"

"Is this some kind of a betrayal… cause it looks like it to me. What the hell is going on here?"

Harold foolishly stood there, in the middle of the room demanding answers. He walks up to Athena. "Well… are you gonna start talking or…"

Before he finishes, Brian with inhuman speed twists his neck. He fell to the ground motionless. "He was getting on my nerves," He says.

Athena looks at the body and then up at me. "We can't let him return to the faction… or else he'll tell them about this"

"And we can't keep him captive here, they'll become suspicious," I say.

We all went quiet for a while. "I could compel him to forget anything he saw here" I suggested.

"That'll do, that way he won't be able to tell the faction anything he saw here" Athena nodded agreeably.

"But I guess I'll just have to stay out of the faction, it's already suspicious enough. Besides, I am sure they'll assume you've killed me" Athena says.

"Yeah… I think you're right" Brian says.

"We will stop the Surr faction from reviving Surr, no matter what it cost. And then everyone can go back to living their normal lives" I stated.

Athena stepped forward. "The vampires at the faction are so many, just the three of us won't be able to stop them you know"

I smiled.

"I see you have something in mind after all…" She says, smiling.

Greenleaf high.

Brian holds my arm and pulls me back a little. "Hey Dave, what was that you wanted to tell me again?…"

"Oh yeah… you know Franklin right? The newly transferred teacher?"

Brian stops, thinking for a while. "Ehm, yeah I do"

"So, he is a vampire and it was he who abducted Eric…"

Brian cuts me short. "Why the hell are you telling me this, I don't give a shit"

"Brian…"

He stops talking and turns to face me. We stood in the middle of the hall as we talk. Hoping no one around is a vampire. "Well, Franklin claims he has been tailing you for so long…"

"Wow… am I that handsome that even guys can't resist?" He says, fixing his hair.

I facepalm and sigh. "You are not getting it… Franklin is a vampire who's been tailing you for a long, and he says he knows who turned you into a vampire"

"What?… What did he tell you?"

He takes a step forward.

"Nothing. That's all he said…"

"Where is he?…"

My face falls. "I kinda compelled him to leave Greenleaf and never return," I say.

Brian stared at me for a moment before he scoffs. "Are you trying to rub this on my face?…"

"What are you saying, Brian?…"

"You told me who turned me into a vampire… then revealed that you compelled him to leave town," He says nodding his head.

"I-I compelled him out because he was a threat… he wanted to use me"

Brian places his hand on my shoulder. "It's all good Dave. I got it… no need to worry"
