The sun shining on my face woke me up. Neither of my parents were beside me. I put on my one shoe and stood up. It felt funny to not have two shoes but oh well. I heard voices and stood up. I walked towards the voices.  I walked into the room and the voices stopped.

"Morning Rori," Mom greeted me.

"Morning," I said, rubbing my eyes.

"We're going to go check out the fire truck across the street. You ready to go?" Dad asked. I nodded and followed everyone outside. I did my best to not step in puddles, seeing as I only had one shoe. The firetruck was like any other. The chip was starting to chip slightly but other than that it was in pretty good condition. I watched from the ground as Abraham climbed into the driver's seat. He tried to start the fire truck. Its engine sputtered but eventually started.

"Haha, about time things started going our way!" Abraham laughed. I smiled and walked towards the back door. It was already open and Mom grabbed my hand and helped me climb into the fire truck, careful of my throbbing side. I felt the fire truck roll as Abraham pressed on the gas. Only we didn't make it very far. We barely moved before the engine stopped. Dad opened the back door and stepped out. Rosita followed. I climbed out and moved to sit on the back edge of the fire truck.

"We'll find another ride," Dad said.

"If there was a ride worth a shit in this town, we'd have seen it. This thing's done some crowd clearing. Right up into the intake. Which means we've got an air filter filled with damn human remains. And there is no damned corner on this damned earth that has not been dicked hard beyond all damned recognition," Abraham said angrily.

"Abraham," Rosita called out to the redhead. I jumped down from where I was sitting and moved to stand next to Dad.

"What," Abraham snapped.

"That feeds the radiator. The intake for the engine is actually on the roof," Rosita said. Abraham nodded. We all turned when we heard a noise behind us. Our eyes followed the rolling tire before turning back to the building. There was a door open with many tires blocking it. The tires were knocked down and out stepped many walkers.

"Tara, Maggie!" Dad yelled over the snarling. Mom and Tara climbed out the driver's door, probably having climbed from the back of the fire truck to the front.

"One damned time," Abraham grunted, smashing a walker's head with his gun.

"Abraham, just wait!" Rosita yelled as Abraham continued smashing the walker's heads. I took one of my throwing knives and threw it into a walker's skull.

"There's more from the back!" Dad yelled. I turned around and began throwing my knives into the walker's head while Dad smashed their head. I stepped back when I felt water hit me. Eugene was using the hose on top of the fire truck to spray the walkers. Guts and blood flew everywhere.
