My sore eyes throbbed as I felt the van come to a stop. I sniffled, gently shaking Theo's shoulder. "Theo, buddy, it's time to wake up."
"Where are we?" Theo asked, his eyes fluttering open.
"I don't know," I sighed, standing up with him in my arms. Carl pushed the back of the van open, jumping out. He took my hand and helped me out before we went around the side to meet Rick and Michonne.
"Stay close, kids," Rick said, Michonne heading in first. Rick stayed behind Carl, who was behind me. We approached the end of the storage crate and Michonne stepped back, allowing Rick to go in first. His gun was raised as he went in, followed by the rest of us. I jumped when loud bangs sounded behind us, junk falling to block our only exit. Rick grabbed onto my arm, pulling us away from the door. Walker's moans could be heard among us, and the adults- plus Carl- quickly tried to clear a path for us to climb up onto the garbage.
"Theo, I'm going to put you down and I want you to start climbing up the garbage, okay?" I asked, eyes wondering between each walker.
"B-but I'm scared," Theo whimpered.
"Theo, fear gets you killed. You don't have time to be scared right now," I said, setting him on his feet. "Now go."
"Okay," I heard him say from beside me before he was gone. I pulled out my knife, staring at the walkers.
"Rori, come on," Rick said from behind me. I stood still, breathing heavily. Matt flashed in my mind, and then a wave of anger passed through me. I grunted, rushing forward and stabbing a walker in its head. Blood splattered my face as I stabbed a second one. I looked to the side when I heard a blade hit skin, and saw Michonne had stabbed one with her sword.
"Rori, go," she said, but I didn't listen. I cried out, stabbing another one.
"Aurora Rhee, get your ass over here," Rick ordered from behind. I stayed looking forward, tears clouding my vision as I let out an angry sob.
"Aurora, go," Michonne said, grabbing onto my arm. I stumbled back, taking Rick's hand and letting him help me up the garbage. I pushed myself up the garbage stacks, reaching the top quickly. Carl stood there with Theo holding onto his hand. I looked at him, sniffled, and then shook my head, silently telling him not to say anything.
"Rick." My head snapped behind me, seeing Jadis sitting there in a white dress. She looked tired and dirty sitting at the very top.
"What happened here?" Michonne asked.
"The Saviors," Jadis said.
"Well, how do we get out?" Jadis stared at her for a moment before answering.
"Get out," Jadis trailed off, her voice cracking slightly. "how you got in."
"Clearly, we can't get out the same way we came in," I snapped.
