She was going to wait until that night to tell him.
Her leg bounced uncontrollably and she felt her hands tremble every couple minutes.
What could Karkaroff be referring to when he said 'It's happening?'
Adeline walked down to the Great Hall with anxiety fuelling her blood. She couldn't even focus on this damned Tournament when Karkaroff was planning something. Snape had to be, too.
When she got to where her friends were sitting, Neville patted a spot beside him. "Here, Addy. Sit with me."
Adeline smiled at him. "You look cheerful."
"This is going to be so much fun! Come on, Adeline. Aren't you excited?" Neville murmured in her ear.
When Adeline and Neville talked, they would normally keep their conversations to themselves, not wanting everyone else to know their business. Adeline could tell Neville anything, anywhere because she knew he would keep it quiet.
"I'm excited, Nev," Adeline lied. She could care less about this Tournament. "I just don't want anyone to get hurt."
"I get that. Let's watch though. It will be good, trust me." Neville whispered.
Adeline pulled her hair over one shoulder and kept close to Neville. She spotted Harry, Ron, and Hermione sitting above them and she tugged on Harry's robes.
Harry looked down with an eyebrow raised and Adeline motioned for him to come closer. He did. "What is it, Addy?"
"I heard something earlier. I need to speak with you after this." Adeline whispered into the Chosen One's ear.
He nodded. "Is everything alright? Is it urgent?"
"No, no. It can wait." Adeline said.
Harry pulled away and took back with Ron. Hermione gave her a curious glare.
"Later." Adeline mouthed at the pretty Muggle-Born. She nodded her own head and whispered something to Ron.
Neville was talking with Dean during Adeline's whispers with Harry, so he didn't ask any questions.
When the Great Hall filled, Adeline caught sight of Theo. Of course, he was with Malfoy and his cronies.
Maybe Adeline should live up to her word and be kind to the foul prat. She raised her hand and waved at the group with the fakest smile on her face.
Malfoy sneered at her and dragged Theo away before he even got a chance to see her.
What a prat.
"Why are you waving at Malfoy?" asked Ron.
Adeline turned. "I'm proving a point."
"And what would that be?" Ron continued.
"It's not any of your business, Ronald, but if you all must know, my dear cousin found out from Malfoy that I am harassing him. Theo says I need to be kinder, so I'm proving just that." Adeline responded.
Seamus scoffed. "What? Malfoy says you're harassing him?"
Adeline nodded. "That's what Theo told me."
"He's vile." said Hermione with an angry edge to her soft voice.
"Tell us something we don't know." Harry blurted.
"Guys," Dean chuckled. "It's starting."
Dumbledore stood in front of the Goblet, waving his wand to make sure all the lights from the candles go out around it. The room was filled with unease and tension.
