"Let me in!"

Knock-knock-knock.

Adeline rushed to the door as fast as she could, stumbling down the stairs of Ben's flat. She knew that voice. She loved that voice. She fidgeted with the locks as another set of knocks came through.

Knock-knock-

There would have been one more knock by the way that Theo's fisted hand was held in mid-air, but it was cut short when Adeline opened the door. She didn't hesitate before pulling her favourite cousin in for a long hug. He hugged her back, and she kept her eyes closed as she inhaled Theo's sweet scent of clean cotton, vintage paper, and musk with a hint of cigarette smoke.

When she pulled back, her heart stuttered. Behind him, Draco Malfoy stood looking handsome as ever and his hands in his pockets. His white-blonde hair was slightly longer than it was when she had last seen him in the Hospital Wing, but his eyes were the same molten silver. They still burned her like the sun.

She couldn't help but hold his stare, her lungs threatening to give out on her as he stood beyond the doorway. That is, until Theo cleared his throat. "Hello, dear cousin. May we enter the home?"

Adeline's gaze flicked back to Theo's. "Yes. Hello. Come in, come in," when both boys entered, shutting the door behind them, she said to Theo. "I missed you."

Theo had gotten taller than when she had seen him last. His hair had gotten longer, too, and his smirk was wide. He ruffled Adeline's hair. "Aww, I missed you, too, cous. I'm loving the new look."

He gestured to her short jean skirt and lime green spaghetti strapped tank top. Her hair was pulled into two braids, and she wasn't wearing shoes or socks. She was completely unprincess-like. It was safe to say she enjoyed it.

Usually.

"Thank you." She said to Theo, but the heated gaze had taken in her now completely outlined figure and she felt exposed. In her dresses and long school skirts, and high socks, she felt anything but exposed. She was covered. Her arms and legs were covered, her figure had always been somewhat hidden. A lot hidden to the searching eye.

The dresses and school uniforms were modest. This skirt and tank top were far from it.

She showed both boys around Ben's London flat, showing them the kitchen and the living room, Ben's bedroom, her bedroom, the guest bedroom. Everything. Her hidden life.

When they were in her bedroom, the last place on the list, Theo blurted. "Those are Muggle films downstairs?"

"Yes." Adeline answered.

Theo jumped. "Yes! I hate to do this, Ads, but I've got to see them. I've got to see."

Adeline offered her cousin a tenative smile. "Go for it, Theo."

He howled and rushed down the stairs, slamming the door behind him. The padding of his feet on the stairs was very loud and hard. Excited.

Adeline turned to Malfoy, who hadn't said one word to her this whole time. He had just been observing her the whole time. She would be a liar to say she hadn't been observing him, too.

She said. "Hey."

Malfoy's face softened, as if tense before. He swallowed. "Hey."

Adeline ran a hand across her white dresser, looking down to hide her blush. "I can't believe he left us here alone."

"I can. He cares about those filthy Muggles more than he cares to admit." Malfoy scoffed.

She kept her gaze on her hand. "Don't use that language in my house."
