The Inquisitorial Squad.
Was this woman mad? Did she really feel the need to break up a little group of students who were practicing magic because SHE wasn't doing her job?
Adeline groaned, flopping into her bed. So much for Dumbledore's Army. It won't last much longer now, even though the others tend to think this is some kind of funny joke.
It's not.
If Umbridge is aware of the little club they have created to preform un-supervised magic, they were done for. Someone was going to snitch out of fear or out of vicious intent and they would all be in deep trouble.
This was awful.
Hermione stormed into the dorm with her arms flailing. She slammed the door and screamed before meeting eyes with Adeline. "Did you see what that monster put out there?"
"Yes," Adeline sighed. "What she's doing- it's mental."
Hermione laughed viciously. "Harry's doing the job that she has failed to do, and now we're going to get screwed over because of that woman!"
"Someone is going to rat us out," Adeline remarked. "So much pressure is going to be put on us now."
"If someone does, we'll know." Hermione declared.
Adeline raised her eyebrows. "What do you mean?"
Hermione bit her lip. "You'll find out soon enough."
Adeline pushed off her bed, standing to meet Hermione's eyes. "Hermione Jean Granger, what did you do?"
"What time is your tutoring with Malfoy again?" The brunette witch huffed.
"Do not avoid this topic, Hermione! What did you do?" Adeline grinned.
"I'm serious, Addy. When is it?" She asked.
"At 7," Adeline answered. "What did you do?"
Hermione checked her watch. "It's 6:50."
"Wh- oh Godric! I've got to go!" Adeline exclaimed, making sure the time was right on her own watch before grabbing her bag and wand and heading to the door.
Hermione called after her, "Have fun!"
"This is not over." Adeline replied.
Hermione's laugh echoed as Adeline shut the door behind her. Adeline rushed down the spiral stairs and said her hellos to everyone who greeted her before rushing out the portrait and down the corridors.
January had gone by as quick as it had come and now it was early February. Which means it was a month of awkward tutoring sessions filled with minimal talking on both of their parts.
Malfoy hadn't said a word about the kiss, and neither had Adeline. They would discuss it when he felt like he was ready. And Adeline had decided that it better be soon or she would forget about all of this in general.
She was done.
She was done with his immaturity.
If he didn't want to acknowledge what happened between them, then she wouldn't acknowledge him at all.
She walked down the corridors, getting herself together. She really didn't want to do this. She didn't want to see him again.
Yet, she still found the door and pushed it open, walking into the dusty old classroom with a grim feeling in her chest. She caught Malfoy's eye and walked to her seat without a word. She pulled out all of her stuff and set it down.
