Malfoy's cruel chuckle vibrated across the office drowning out one of the plate-cat's meows. "Looks like you fools are done."
Warrington laughed. Crabbe's laugh was delayed by a while. The other Slytherin's looked bored and over Malfoy's authority. Adeline had finally got her breathing under enough control that she could see what was going on. Malfoy released most of his grip on her. He had released her enough that she could reach into jean pocket and grab her wand.
In all that struggling, she had forgotten she even had it. She forgot she could've just cast a simple Stinging Jinx and ran for the hills.
As Malfoy teased her fellow Gryffindors -- and Ravenclaw, she slyly pulled her wand out from her back pocket. She was thankful for the stupidity of the rest of the Slytherins in the room when she grabbed her wand in her back two hands, making sure to point it at Malfoy and not herself. She waited for a moment. She had to make sure Umbridge was truly gone.
But it had been what seemed like 15 minutes of Malfoy and the Squad rambling about how they won. How they caught 'Potter and his band of misfits.'
There was no going back now. Adeline took a deep breath as she mumbled in her gag. "Stupify."
Malfoy shot back far behind her, his grip slipping from her quickly. Adeline didn't waste time as she pulled off her bandana and turned around, pointing her wand at Warrington -- who was holding Ginny. "Impedimenta!"
Warrington's movements became sluggish and Ginny pushed away from him, kicking the large Slytherin in the crotch as she did so. She pulled out her wand and then chucked her gag off. The quick movements of Adeline and Ginny had taken the rest of the Squad members aback. They hadn't reacted as fast as Ron, Luna, and Neville. They had all pulled out their wands and began casting spell after spell on the Slytherins.
They had began fighting back, too.
Daphne sneered. "You think that was smooth, Princess?"
And she shot Adeline with a simple 'Expelliarmus' that Adeline blocked smoothly. After that, Daphne and Adeline had gone back and forth in a duel.
Umbridge's office was a freakshow as the D.A. fought against the Inquisitorial Squad. Ron against Warrington. Luna against Millicent. Neville against Crabbe. Ginny against Malfoy. Adeline against Daphne.
When Adeline had finally disarmed Daphne and stunned her to the point of unconciousness, she had wasted too much time collecting her wand before she was shot across the room with a blowing hex. Adeline hit the wall, plates smashing under her and causing blood to run down her back. Her lip tore due to the pressure of her teeth. She was beyond winded and she winged as tears burned at her eyes.
Still, she got up in time to see Malfoy's panicked look. His eyes locked with hers as Ginny cast her final blow. A Bat-Bogey Hex. It was brilliant, and caused the rest of the Slytherins to become distracted by the flapping things on Malfoy's face. He clawed at his face and yelled frantically, but Ginny hit him again, causing him to shut his mouth.
Adeline ran forward to help the others even with her painful injuries. She could barely breathe. She held her wand out, pointing her wand at Millicent.
She flew back against the fireplace, her leg cracking deafeningly loud. She screamed in agony, feeling the tears come down her face in pure pain. Adeline cried as she shot the spell at Warrington. "Expelliarmus!"
He was too slow to realize that she would still fight in pain. His wand flew to her hand and Adeline moaned in pain as she prepared her wand to cast another spell on Warrington.
"Flipendo!" Neville shouted.
Warrington fell backwards and Neville advanced on him.
"Impedimenta!"
