Lavender, Parvati, and Adeline got ready together. Hermione would have been there, if not for her telling the other girls it would take longer for her to get ready and she didn't want to spoil the surprise.
Honestly, Adeline was very excited. This was her element, her life; she had been going to balls and galas since she was in nappies. Besides, her dress was to die for. She couldn't have been more excited to put it on.
Lavender came twirling out of the small restroom the girls had in their dormitory, her puffy lilac dress pooling out around her. The colour looked lovely on her. Adeline put down her wand -- which she was using to curl her hair -- and smiled at Lavender.
"You look beautiful, Lav!"
Parvati gasped as she saw her in the mirror. "Seamus is going to be drooling!"
Adeline fought back rolling her eyes at the comment. Parvati was probably true -- Seamus would probably drool seeing Lavender in that dress -- but their need to make everything about boys aggrivated her to no end. She stared back in the mirror, continuing getting ready whilst the other two girls gossiped and giggled.
She finished curling her hair and tied it into a fancy knot in the middle of her head, leaving a couple curled pieces out at the front to frame her face. When she was at home, she had beauty-witches come in and do her hair and makeup before these kinds of gatherings. She gave those witches credit, this was hard work.
She finally got her hair and makeup in perfect order as she casted glamour charms over herself. She had used some Muggle makeup previously as well, not going too crazy with it. She had only put a bit of eyeliner on to accentuate her eyes, as well as some brown eyeshadow to do the same thing. She put some blush on her cheeks and nose before lining her lips with a light brown lip-liner and topping that off with clear lipgloss. Finally, she cast a spell to make her makeup stay on all night.
As she finished that up, Paravti came from the restroom in her orange dress with a pink sash draped over the side. The dress was simple and elegant, and Adeline though Parvati looked extremely gorgeous in the dress.
"Parvati, you look stunning!" Adeline hummed, standing up from where she sat in front of her mirror.
She had already been wearing an extremely uncomfortable petticoat and her undergarments before she went into the restroom herself, carrying her dress with her. Adeline would admit, it was a ton more difficult to put on the dress with the petticoat and her special undergarments on, but she managed and ended up smiling fiercely when she saw her reflection.
Adeline had ended up choosing her third dress option in Gladrags. It was a muted gold colour with sparkles coating the whole dress. It was surely a princess dress, the sleeves were just below her shoulders and the dress was made of the same material all the way through. Luckily, Adeline wrote to her mother a bit after she got the dress and her mother sent her a pair of silk gloves made of the same muted gold. She threw a gold necklace and gold earrings on as well.
She slid the gloves on and put on a pair of black high heels before leaving the restroom.
Parvati and Lavender turned to her as soon as she opened the door and their jaws dropped.
"Adeline... you- wow." Parvati murmured.
Lavender tried. "You look-
"Like a princess." They both said in unison.
Adeline laughed. "I just need my tiara and I'm all set."
All of them laughed together, but Adeline noticed both girls eyeball the dress enviously a couple minutes later as they dencended the stairs to the common room. Neville and Ginny were standing there, making slight banter before Ginny caught sight of Adeline out of the corner of her eyes.
