Ellie
After Lia's outburst I had no choice but let Zarah in on my plan. She obviously disapproved and said that I was crazy for even thinking about it. She might be right, but I don't care. I know my father. When he wants something done. He gets it done no matter what.
Zarah tried to dissuade me, but it was a lost battle since she knows I wouldn't budge once I've made up mind. She promised to stay quiet. Besides I told her that the worst thing that can happen is Marco declining my marriage proposal. What harm can that do?
Anyways today is about Massimo and Ara.
As we were getting ready to walk down the aisle, I walked over to Arabella and hugged her, careful not to ruin her dress and make up. She was initially surprised, but she immediately recovered and hugged me back. This past week has brought us closer together. She's definitely a welcome addition to our family, as a daughter, and a sister.
"Thank you so much, Ara. Thank you for making my brother happy. I think all of us who knows him deeply can say that, we have never seen him this happy," I said tears welling up in my eyes.
Ara's eyes welled up with tears too.
Damn it. I didn't mean to make her cry.
"Thank you. He makes me happy too. All of you do. I'm thankful to be a part of your family," she said.
I smiled at her. "I hope my brother knows what a gem you are."
She laughed.
"Let's get you married to my idiot brother," I said with a wink.
She chuckled.
"Alright, places everyone," I heard the wedding coordinator say.
In this moment, I feel like I'm the one getting married. I'm so nervous.
I took a deep breath and started walking down the aisle.
I looked up and my gaze landed on Marco. He was staring back at me. I don't know if he could tell I was nervous, because he immediately smiled at me, and urged me on encouragingly. I smiled back and took a step forward. All that time I was walking down the aisle, my gaze was focused on Marco and his radiant smile. He looks so handsome and sexy in his suit.
I took my spot, and waited like everybody else for the bride.
Then a few moments later there she was.
God she looked so beautiful.
I looked at my brother and found him looking back at his bride with tenderness and pride, and... love. Anyone who looked at the two of them wouldn't miss the love shining in their eyes.
Tears welled up in my eyes, as I watched my brother breathe in a new breath of life. He has stopped living his life ever since Cassie died. Looking at the life he led after his first wife died would say that he has completely stopped living and was merely existing. Yes, he had Lia, and she is what saved him. If it wasn't for that little girl, I have no doubt in my mind that he would have drowned himself in his sorrow and pain. But now looking at him, he's finally living again.
The wedding ceremony went by so quickly. Before I knew it, it was time for the newly weds to share their first kiss as husband and wife.
Then suddenly, "Let the woman breathe Massimo," I heard Marco say.
I giggled.
"Yeah save that for the honeymoon," Jason said. The other best man. The third of the Golden Trio. He's actually a nice and a funny guy. I also couldn't help but notice the looks he and my sister were giving each other. I can feel the connection and chemistry between the two. I hope my sister isn't getting to infatuated with the guy. He's got quite the reputation. I just don't want my sister to get hurt.
