Ch. 24: Life or Death

Cedric held onto you as you both tumbled onto the beach.

"Are you ok?" he asked. You nodded, burying your face in his chest.

Harry started shouting, causing everyone else to look at him.

Dobby..... had been stabbed with a knife.

"NO!" you screamed and ran over to him.

"Such a beautiful place... to be with friends." Dobby's weak voice spoke.

You cried into Cedric's chest as he rubbed your back and ran his fingers through your hair.

"We should close his eyes. Don't you think?" Luna asked with a gentle voice.

Harry nodded as he sniffled.

Luna closed Dobby's eyelids, "There. Now he could be sleeping..."

You sat beside Harry, who was staring at Dobby's grave.

As you placed your hand on his, "Harry. I think we should get in the house now..."

He looked at you and nodded.

As you were walking down the hill, Cedric noticed you coming and started walking up to you.

Black smoke appeared before you and knocked Harry and Cedric to the ground.

They shouted your name as a hand grabbed hold of you and everything went dark.

You were pushed to the ground and you recognized the floor instantly.

Looking up, you saw Draco.

"Take care of her while we get Bellatrix." the death eater spoke.

Once he left, Draco pulled you in for a hug, "How did they find you?" he asked.

"I was at a house on a beach. Somehow they found us." you replied, meeting his eyes.

He looked at you, "(y/n).."

"Why did you stay? Why didn't you leave with us?" you asked.

"I didn't have a choice." he replied

"Ye-Yeah you did!! You could've sided with me!"

"No! I couldn't! My family is here! This is the side I belong in! I'm naturally bad, (y/n)! You should know that!"

"No one is naturally bad, Dray. You could've left with us..." 

He started to pace, "Give me a reason on why I should've left with you and Pottah!"

"To fight for the right side!! To fight with me, not against me!"

He looked away from you.

"Dray! Look at what's happening! Your side kills innocent people! They kill children for crying out loud! Do you think that's right!?"

"Well bloody hell, (y/n)!! Is it my fault that I didn't want to leave my family! That I didn't want to live in fear!? If I would have stayed, the Dark Lord would have killed me! Here, the Dark Lord protects me! I don't have to be afraid!"

"I would've protected you..." your voice broke as tears shed.

"(y/n)..." he clenched his fists and pulled you in for another hug.

"Well well. If it isn't the pwetty wittle girl again." Bellatrix sneered. "Draco darling. Bring her to me."

He looked at you and then at her as his arms around you tightened.

"Draco! Bring her to me!" she screamed.

"No..." he replied.

"What? Did you just say?!" she screeched.

Draco replied, "I said no."

She pulled Draco away from you and shouted, "Crucio!"

Your screams filled the manor. Draco sank to his knees at the sight, as tears shed.

Narcissa, Lucius, and your parents ran in as Bellatrix pulled out a phial of black liquid.

She grabbed onto your hair and made you go on your knees. You tried to move your head side to side, but she held it still and poured it into your mouth.

Intense pain immediately filled your body. Bellatrix threw you back on the ground.

Before she could do anything else, Narcissa grabbed onto her arm, "Stop!!"

Draco pulled you up from the ground and into his arms.

Your face was pale and blood trickled from your mouth.

Your mother sobbed as she held onto your hand tightly, "My baby!!"

*Cedric's POV:*

The next morning, Cedric didn't eat breakfast. He just stood by his bed, his hair a mess, his jacket crumpled up on the floor. No one came to speak to him.

Not even Harry.

He had a small jewelry box in his hand. 

Squeezing the box, he tried to hold in his sobs but couldn't.

He feared that he could never see you again. That he would never give you this symbol of his heart to hold forever in your hands.

That he would never show how much he truly loved you.
