Chapter 16
"Photo album on the counter, your cheeks were turning red.
You used to be a little kid with glasses in a twin sized bed
And your mother's telling stories about you on a tee ball team" - All too well - Taylor Swift"Come in!" I yelled to the person who knocked on my door. The door opened and I looked up to see my mom standing in the door way.
I got up from laying on my bed where I was doing my Calculus homework. "Hey mom, what's up?" She came and sat down on the bed with me. "I just got off the phone with my work and I have to go away on a business trip this weekend."
"Oh okay, well me and Bailee will be fine here. Don't worry about us." I said.
"That's the thing. It's not that I don't trust you its just that you shouldn't have to take care of yourself and your sister for a whole weekend by yourself. So that's why you are going to stay at the Collins house and Bailee is staying with a friend." She explained.
I sat quiet for a moment and the spoke, "Yeah I guess that's okay. I can stay with Kelsey or Cara if I need to." I was surprised that she would even let me stay with Logan. It's not that she doesn't like Logan but I didn't think she would let me spend the night with him at his house. Granted his mom will be there but it's still surprising my mom is allowing me to.
She shook her head, "I've already spoke with Michelle and she said it's more than fine for you to stay."
She stands up and kisses my forehead, "I'm taking Bailee to her friends house in a few minutes then I'll be taking off."
"Kay, Bye, love you."
"Love you too sweetie." She said as she left my room.
I got up and decided to pack for the weekend at Logan's. I was little nervous considering my growing crush on him and that I'll be sleeping in the same house as him. I'm excited to be spending the weekend with him, I just hope he doesn't bring one of his conquest home. I shudder at the thought of him and some other girl doing it, in the next room beside me.
I finish packing my things and head over next door. I knock on the front door. Logan opens it and smiles when he sees me with my overnight bag in hand. "You know you don't ever have to knock?" He asked cocking his head to the side and smirks.
I rolled my eyes, "Good to know. Now are you going to let me in or am I going to sleep outside?" He laughs and opens the door wider so I can enter the house.
I follow him into his house and into the kitchen to where his mom, Michelle is. "Hello Zoe, I'm so happy you're spending the weekend with us! I love that another girl will be in the house." I smile, "Thanks so much for having me."
"You're welcome here anytime." She said giving me a hug. I return the hug and she pulls back, "You can put your stuff in the guest room. Logan, be a gentleman and show her where it is." She waves us off and goes back into the kitchen.
"Cmon, your Highness." He bows and I laugh as follow him to the guest room.
"This will be your room when you stay here." He said opening to the door to the guest room. "My room is right there." He points to the room across from where we are.
"Thanks," I walk in and put my bag down. "So what are we going to do?" I asked.
He looks at me sheepishly, "Well my mom was really hoping to have some girl time with you since your probably the closest she has to a daughter. But we can do something later."
"Oh yeah, I would love to hang out with your mom. She's awesome!"
"I think she was going to take you out for dinner. Then maybe we can hang out afterwards." He says.
