Chapter 39

"Remember when you hit the brakes too soon?
Twenty stitches in the hospital room
When you started cryin', baby, I did, too
But when the sun came up, I was lookin' at you" - Out of the woods - Taylor Swift

As Logan and I walked hand in hand to his car from the wedding, I decided to bring up what he needed to talk to me about.

He smiled sadly at me, still gripping my hand. "We'll talk about it later. Lets not ruin this perfect night." He looked up to the sky which was starting to turn to dark.

I look at him with a worried look, "Logan you're scaring me, what's going on?"

He sighed, "I don't want to talk about it right now. Can we please drop it for right now?"

"Sure," I mumble irritably.

It's driving me crazy. I want to know what is going on! I hate being in the dark about things. The fact that he said he didn't want to ruin the night means that it's bad news.

We finish the long walk to his car and he opens the passenger door for me.

"Thanks,"

"Just doing what gentleman's do, open doors for women and shit." He replied.

I rolled my eyes, "You act like life as a guy is so hard."

"It is!" He stated defensively.

I laughed, "Don't even get me started on that, girls defiantly have it worse- we have periods and babies. You name it,"

He sat silent for a moment before replying, "I guess you won that argument."

I flicked my hair over my shoulder cockily, "As always,"

He let out a bark of laugher as he cranked the car, "What am I going to do with you Zoe Taylor?"

You can date me. Or you can kiss me.

But of course I didn't say that. I wanted to though.

Instead I looked at him and grinned, "Nothing because you love me and you wouldn't know what to do without me."

He just smiled and shook his head.

Once we got on the road to head back home, the only sound was the music that was playing from the radio. Some pop hit from Maroon 5 was playing and I drummed my fingers on the seat along to the beat.

I looked over at Logan who was slouched back in his seat, driving with one hand on the wheel.

He mindlessly reached over with his right hand and grabbed my left hand. He gave it a squeeze then rested it on the console.

That's how we rode, holding on for dear life with our hands. Clinging on to each other because with this news he wants to tell me, there is a feeling that it's not good news.

The ride back to our house is pretty long and I was getting sleepy so I decided to start up conversation to keep me and him awake.

"You want to know a secret?" I asked as we still held hands.

He quickly glanced at me before putting his eyes back on the road, "Hit me with it."

"I was really nervous about moving here." I told him.

"I only had a few friends back at home and I was so nervous about having to make new ones here. I would have never thought I would be friends with you guys."
