Chapter 35 part 1

"The highway won't hold you tonight
The highway don't know you're alive
The highway don't care if you're all alone
But I do, I do.
The highway won't dry your tears
The highway don't need you here
The highway don't care if you're coming home
But I do, I do." - Highway Don't Care - Tim McGraw

Valentine's Day.

The day for all the couples and romantics out in the world to celebrate their love for one another.

I love Valentine's Day because I am so much hopeless romantic but unfortunately I alway spend that day watching sad love movies as I ate candy.

This year though is a little different.

I have this imagination of a perfect Valentine's Date for me and Logan. I will wear this pretty white dress I bought the other day and we will have a candle lit dinner under the stars on the beach.

The odds of that happening are slim but a girl can dream right?

Logan and I are still real close and he acts like he likes me but yet he still hasn't said anything about it.

"What are you daydreaming about this time?" Logan asked as he nudged me. We were walking down the hallway at school, heading to our next class.

"Nothing,"

"Sure," he drawled out. I rolled my eyes as we continued walking. After his grandfather passed away, Logan went through a week phase of depression and sadness. It was hard to get him to cheer up but he eventually got out of his funk. He's now back to his sexily annoying self and picks on me about every minute.

"See ya after class princess," he said with a smile that showed his dimple. I nodded and we went into our separate classes.

"Hey chica," Cara greeted me as I sat down in my calculus class.

I sat my books down on my desk and turned to her, "I have a question,"

"And I probably have an answer."

"So has Logan mentioned anything about maybe taking me out for Valentine's Day?" I asked nervously.

She looked at me with a sad smile, "I wish I had an answer for that question but sadly I don't."

I sighed, "Oh well, I kept thinking he might ask me on a date or something because we have been so close lately but it just hasn't happened yet."

"I know it's hard but Logan works on his own time so sometimes you just have to wait for him." She said, "But if it counts, I do think he likes you."

"I think he likes me too," I pondered, "But he has never said anything. I mean we've kissed more than once for crying out loud, so why can't we already be official?" I whined.

"Logan's my best friend and I love him to death but maybe you shouldn't just wait around for him you know? Maybe you should date around and that might get his attention."

"I don't want to be that girl to use a guy to get another guy's attention." I said.

She shrugged her shoulders, "You don't have to be that girl. If you get asked on a date, go and have fun! Don't waste your teenage years waiting around for some guy."

Well she does give good advice.

I nodded, "I guess I'll try it."

She smiled, "Now that's the spirit!"

"Alright class! It's time to learn about Normal and Tangent Lines." The teacher said as she walked to the board to start the lesson.

"Hey, Zoe!" I heard a voice yell as I walked to my car in the school parking lot.
