Chapter 4

"Everybody's watching you now
Everybody waits for you now
What happens next" - Dare you to move - Switchfoot

It's 6:58 a.m and I'm sitting on my Living room couch waiting for Logan to get here.

I wanted to make sure I was on time this morning. I really don't want to piss Logan off.

7:00 on the dot I hear a honk outside and I see his familiar mustang pull in to my drive way. I get up and make my way towards the door.

"Bye mom, I'm leaving!" I shout before walking out the door.

"Bye sweetie!" I hear her yell back.

Butterflies hit my stomach as I see Logan in the drivers seat looking mighty fine. No doubt he is attractive and makes me nervous as hell but his attitude is what makes me not like him as much.

I climb in the passenger seat and we zoom off. It's quiet and awkward and I stare out the window. I want to say something to break the silence but I don't know what to say.

I was in my own little world, thinking about today and how my second day of school will go when he speaks up, "Don't hang out with that Alex guy alright?"

I snap my head to look at him, "What?" I asked shocked.

He turns his head to look at me but quickly turns back to the road, "Alex is not a good guy. All he wants is to get in your pants. I advise you to stay away from him - that is if you don't want him to get in your pants." He says with a smirk on his face.

I clear my throat, "No I don't want that but he seems really nice. He helped me out yesterday and let me sit with him when I was alone."

"That's how he works. He's nice at first, then he will just take advantage of you."

I don't know why but Logan telling me what to do and not do really gets my temper flaring. Alex was being nothing but nice to me while Logan is walking around like he's the God of the school.

"Why do you care?" I ask

"I don't but I was just giving you a heads up." He replies

"Well um thanks for the advice but I have no friends and Alex was nice enough to let me sit with him so I didn't have to be alone."

Logan rolls his eyes, "You can sit and hang out with my friends then. Alex and his crew are bad news."

"Okay"

I don't know why but I feel even more nervous. Not only am I about to show up at school with one of the hottest and most popular guy there is but I'm also going to meet his friends. I'm not the most social person and this is not easy for me.

I just hope they like me.

The school building comes into view as we make our way towards the parking lot. People are everywhere and that makes me want to puke. They are going to see me get out of the car with Logan and they are all going to think we are dating or whatever.

I don't think I'm ready for the jealous and death stares on my second day of school.

I unbuckle my seatbelt and about to open the door when Logan speaks up again, "Oh I can't take you home in the afternoons, I have football practice."

Great so he decides now to tell me. Now I have to remember to text my mom to pick me up or I will be stuck at school.

"Oh okay." Is all I say.

We both get out of the car and shut our doors.

It's like I'm in a cliche high school movie. I feel like we are in slow motion as the other students around me start staring at us. I can feel their glares piercing in my skin and I make my way to the entrance. I keep my head down and walk as fast I can, I look back to Logan and he seems oblivious to the whispers and stares.
