Chapter 59 Part 1
"My wish for you
Is that this life becomes all that you want it to
Your dreams stay big, your worries stay small
You never need to carry more than you can hold
And while you're out there gettin' where you're gettin' to
I hope you know somebody loves you
And wants the same things too
Yeah, this is my wish" - My wish - Rascal Flatts
It's finally here.
The day that everyone looks forward to since they were in Elementary school.
Graduation.
Some are sad and some are happy but for me I fall in the middle. I'm happy for the new chapter in my life that will start today but I'm also sad to leave the memories from those school years behind. Especially the memories from this year that changed my life.
Senior year was probably my most favorite year from the 12 years that I was in school. The reason should be quite obvious, but one person turned my word around and that was Logan Collins. I can't even imagine how my life would be if I was never forced to ride with school with Logan when I first moved here.
"You ready babe?" I hear Logan's voice behind me and I turn around to see him dressed in the same black cap and gown that I'm wearing. It seems so surreal that we are about to graduate.
We are going to walk across the stage, take the diploma from our principal and then that's it. Some will continue on the path of school and go to college and some will start working in the real world.
As for Logan and I, we are both attending the college here in Southport. Logan is going on a scholarship for football meaning that in the coming fall he will be playing football again. I'm pretty excited for that myself and I know he is too. He's an amazing quarterback and I know he will do great there. Of course the plan for him is to play football in college and then make it pro but of course there are setbacks and not every college football player played for the NFL so he does have a back up plan. If some reason his football career doesn't make it then he will be prepared since he will also be going to school for sports medicine.
I am going to the same college as him which will be fun to have him by my side and be by his side as he plays football. I am going to school the be a teacher; an elementary school teacher that is. I love being around little kids and I think it would be the perfect job for me.
Zach got a football scholarship at the University of Alabama so he will sadly be moving away in about a month. I sure will miss that guy. He has been such a great friend to me and I can't wait to go watch him play football whenever I'm not watching Logan play.
Kelsey is going to stay close to home and go to college with Logan and I so thankfully I'll have a close friend to hang with at school when Logan is off being a football player.
Cara and Peyton will be staying close to home as well. In fact their wedding is coming up in just a few weeks and they are getting a place together. Cara will have her baby in a few months and she will be at home taking care of the baby. Peyton is not going to school right away so he can get a full time job to help raise his little family. They both might go back to school when their child gets older.
I smooth out my gown and look at Logan who as always, has a smile on his face.
I had butterflies all in my tummy but as nervous as I was for this new chapter in life, I was also excited. So bring it on. "Yes, I think I'm ready." I say smiling back at him.
