THE A TEAM MEETS MR. T.
Reaching into the Sunstone Chest after so long Sang gently pulled out the bear her beloved Grammy got her. Seeing the happiness on Sang's face nine guys swallowed hard.
"Meet Mr. T, guys." Sang said softly as she gently beeped his nose and laughed.
Gabe blinked and then held his hands out "Hand him over Trouble. I need to meet the dude with more ear piercings than me." He spoke in French and grinned as Sang handed him over brushing her hand through his hair. "I like your ear piercings just fine, Meanie." She said softly back to him in French without realising, causing his grin to widen even more.
"I thought he was put away somewhere safe at home in Massachusetts. I didn't realise Grammy and Grampa had put him in here for safekeeping."
"What do you mean 'safe at home' Miss Sorenson?" Mr Blackbourne asked delicately.
Sang sighed and pointed at the envelope still sitting on the table. "I think all the current paperwork is in there. I haven't looked to be honest, but basically what happened is: the first time my father refused to let me go and live with my grandparents they were angry. So they decided to sell everything, and I mean everything, to a trust they created, the Moonstone Trust. House, cars, furniture, books, everything. Then they rented the house and cars back from the Trust for a nominal fee as caretakers of the property."
"Their share portfolios were combined and, along with their investment properties, became the basis for the Sunstone Trust. When both the trusts were established with them and the Drummonds as Trustees, it was all moved to accounts that no one could access except them and me. Well, me as Rose Childe. My real name doesn't appear anywhere. I'll think about that later. That could be problematic." Sang said frowning to herself.
Sang refocused and continued "Anyway, they left enough in their everyday living account for everything they needed, and that's what dad inherited. No wonder he was angry after he saw Mr D. I think he thought he would at least get Grampa's car and the house. I think he thought Grampa gambled it away."
Sang suddenly giggled. "He thought Grampa was a gambler. He wasn't, but he loved messing around on the stock market and he was very successful. We used to talk shares all the time." Sang giggled "I put him on to buying Apple and Google shares ten years ago. He said he was buying some for my education account."
"Do you think he did, Sweetie?" Kota asked fascinated by this side of his beautiful Sang.
"No idea. If I had a look at the bank account I could tell. All the dividends have been going into it since then." Sang shrugged. "I know the account numbers. Grampa told me what they were. I can remember them if you want to find out."
"It's fine for the moment Miss Sorenson. Some other time, when it suits you." Mr Blackbourne murmured, frowning as Xavier suddenly appeared from the bedroom to jump on the table next to Sang, looking very pleased with himself and beginning to fawn all over her.
"Persistent isn't he." Sean smirked at him. "Who taught him to open the door?" Sean grinned seeing Sang look a little bit guilty.
"Miss Sorenson. Did you show Mr Xavier how to hang off door handles in order to open them?"
"Well, um maybe. Not deliberately. He watched me open it though, and he's very clever." "Aren't you, Handsome?" Sang cooed, picking the cat up oblivious to Mr Blackbourne closing his eyes, sighing and shaking his head and the boys all smirking while Sean outright laughed.
"You know, Spotty dog was smart too." She stated suddenly. "Mr D kept him, thank goodness. He told me the other night he was company for his dog. He got a little puppy that last summer. He let me name him." Sang grinned.
