Chapter 36: Never Gone

Pablo's Point of View

I immediately rushed Ashley to the hospital. Not even caring of the blood strains on my clothes and skin. It's my child for Pete's sake. At bumabagabag sa utak ko ang sinabi sa akin ni Miss Prima, na risky ang pagbubuntis ni Ashley.

She lost consciousness a while ago. My heart is beating so fast because of fear and I'm panicking right now. Mabilis akong sinalubong ng mga nurse na may dalang stretcher. They said that I need to wait until Ashley is transferred to a private room.

I brushed my fingers on my hair then lightly gripped on it because of frustration. My hands are trembling in fear and worry. Ni-hindi ko na magawang maupo sa waiting chair at pakalmahin ang sarili. I was just walking back and forth.

"Paulo!"

Lumingon agad ako sa pinaggalingan ng boses. There I saw Miss Prima and Ylene rushing to meet me. Worry and fear is evident in their faces.

"Si Ashley? Anong nangyari sa kaniya?" alalang tanong ni Miss Prima.

"Dinala na po siya sa emergency room." I sighed. "D-Dinugo siya." papahina kong sabi.

Napatakip sa bibig si Miss Prima at agad naman siyang dinamayan ni Ylene.

"It happened again." Miss Prima whispered. "Sana gaya ng dati, makaligtas ulit yung bata." there's a hint of hope in her voice.

"Kuya Pau, mag-palit ka kaya muna ng damit. M-May dugo ka na oh." Ylene said while looking at my clothes.

I sighed again then nodded. "Don't worry about me, I'm fine."

I'm wearing an oversized jacket and a shirt inside. Aalisin ko nalang 'to mamaya at mag-huhugas nalang ako pag nalaman ko na ang lagay ni Ashley. Hindi ko kayang umalis ngayon at isipin ang sarili ko lalo na't ganito ang lagay niya. Hindi ako mapapanatag.

Miss Prima tried to calm me down but it's no use. I'm still panicking. Hindi ko kayang kumalma hangga't hindi nangagaling sa doktor ang balita.

I was panicking for almost 30 minutes. Si Miss Prima na rin ang nag-sagot sa form para kay Ashley dahil nanginginig ang mga akmay ko.

Finally, a nurse went out of the emergency room. Sabay-sabay kaming tumayo at sinalubong ang nurse.

"Sir, na-transfer na po si ma'am sa room 87 sa second floor. Paki-hintay nalang po si Doc doon." the nurse said.

I nodded then thanked her. Nagmamadali kaming pumunta sa second floor at sa sinasabing kwarto. And when we entered the room, there I saw my Ashley lying on the hospital bed, looking so pale and tired, and there's a nurse checking on her dextrose.

"Excuse me po. Hintayin niyo nalang po si Doc dito. Salamat po." the nurse said as she excuse herself.

I walkes towards Ashley then sat on the chair beside her bed. I caressed her cheek then held her hand tightly. I'm sorry for letting you go alone.

Maingat kong ipinatong sa tiyan niya ang kamay ko tsaka ko iyon marahang hinaplos. Are you still there little one? Don't leave us, please. You need to see the world and live with us.
