It's been 5 months since you went to New Orleans with Hayley and it's been the best decision you've ever made. You truly felt like a Mikaelson, to the point that everyone considers you Y/N Mikaelson. Everything has been going great with Hayley as she's been making you feel loved.
At first you got so many messages from Elena begging you to come back but overtime they faded but she still sent some messages begging you to leave Hayley and just come back. You've gotten some from Damon but not a lot and either way you didn't want to talk to him. You've talked to Stefan as he didn't do anything wrong to hurt you. Stefan has been letting you know about everything in Mystic Falls including their new threat Kai Parker
You were thinking about visiting with Hayley of course but Stefan recommend to wait until Kai either was killed or left town before coming as he wanted you to be safe. You agreed and stayed in New Orleans, however that would change when you got a message from Stefan one day
You were sitting in the yard, playing with baby Hope when you felt your phone vibrate in your pocket. You looked at your phone and saw that Stefan was calling you. You smiled and answered as you still kept your attention on Hope
"Hey Stefan what's going on?" You ask and Stefan sighs sadly before breaking some news to you "Hey Y/N....Elena is in a coma. Kai put her to sleep with his magic as he linked her life with Bonnie. Elena will wake up once Bonnie dies. We're saying goodbye to Elena and I felt like you should come back to say your goodbyes. I know you left on bad terms but I know you'll regret it if you don't" Stefan tells you
You just sat there stunned as Hope looked up at you confused. It was a lot to take in. Yes you still were mad at Elena but Stefan was right, you would regret it if you don't say goodbye. You told Stefan you'll be down there.
You picked up Hope and walked back into the compound where you found Hayley talking to Elijah. You broke the news to her and told her you needed to go back for at least a day to say goodbye. Hayley was going to try and change your mind but she understood. Hayley decided to go with you as she would miss you and she didn't trust anyone there and was worried they would try to hurt you
Klaus told you that he could watch Hope. You and Hayley then started your journey to mystic falls. During the car ride, you were silent thinking about what you were even gonna say to her. Hayley looked over at you and held your hand. You looked at her and smiled as you brought her hand to your lips and kissed her hand
At some point during the journey there, you had fallen asleep because you were gently shook awake by Hayley telling you that you were there. You just looked at the Salvatore boarding house. You didn't even know how to react as you had not so pleasant memories there just popping up into your mind. Hayley got out and opened your door for you which took you out of your thoughts. You took her hand and the two of you walked to the door of the house and knocked
Damon opened the door and was shocked to see you but the shock turned to attitude as he saw Hayley was with you. You two just walked past him as you had nothing to say to him. You found Stefan leaning over a coffin and Hayley let go of your hand as you walked towards Stefan and the coffin
