Kaelynn's P.O.V.
The next day, I saw Becky sitting at her regular spot. I debated whether to sit next to her or find some other spot. I jumped as I felt a hand on my shoulder, and turned to find Tam.
"You okay?" She asked me.
"Yeah. I'm fine," I responded, looking to the ground.
"Why don't you go over there and talk to her?"
Sighing, I said, "She probably doesn't want to talk to me. I'm a freak, and a weirdo."
"No, you're not. You just had a bad past--"
"Yeah, and that screws up my whole future if I keep remembering it!"
"Kaelynn, stop being so complicated and talk to her!" She pushed me ahead.
Rebecca sat on the bench, on her phone, one leg over the other, lightly shaking it. Her hair covered her face though, so she couldn't see me. I slowly walked towards her, a million possibilities went through my head. Maybe she'll understand. Or she'll hate me for lying to her. Or think I'm a freak and never speak to me again. I was only a few feet away when I heard someone call my name.
Mason jogged towards me, and I stopped walking. He smiled then stopped in front of me. "Hey, I just wanted to say I'm sorry for the way my girlfriend acted towards you yesterday. It was rude and uncalled for."
I shrugged while my heart was beating five times faster. "Oh, it's no problem. Girls can get a little...like that sometimes."
"Well, cool that you understand. Maybe we can get a bite to eat pr something tonight?"
And my heart started beating ten times faster than usual. "Uh-huh. Sure."
"Cool. Come over to my house at six. I can cook something."
He can cook?!? That Regina girl sure is lucky. But it looks lile she doesn't even care for him like that.
"What about your girlfriend?" I found myself asking.
"Regina? She's going out of town with her friends tonight. So, can you come?"
"Mmmmmm, yeah. I can."
Mason smiled at me again. "Cool. So, I'll see you." Then he jogged back the way he came.
"So, your first date, huh?"
I quickly spun around to see Rebecca looking at me, chin resting in the palm of her hand. She must have been listening. I mean, she was barely three feet away.
"N-no," I studdered. "It's just as friends."
Rebecca nodded her head slightly. "So, are you going to lie to him like you lied to me?"
"Rebecca, I didn't mean--"
"Oh, that's what they all say! 'Oh, Rebecca! I didn't mean to! It just came out!' Whatever. You could have just told me these things, I would have understood, Kaelynn. But, no. You just had to be like the rest. I thought you were different. I thought I could finally have an actual friend..."
Rebecca had tears in her eyes, and she sniffed. I never knew she actually liked me as a friend. I thought it was more of a one-way thing, because it looked as if I wanted to be her friend, and that she didn't really care.
"But...what about your other friends? Tou know, the ones in the pictures and--"
"Did you really believe they were my friends?!?"
I was shocked at her outburst, and jumped. "What--"
"They aren't my friends!" She cried, her voice cracking. "They used me!"
Used her? "H-how?" I asked.
Before she could answer, the bell rung, and she stood up and walked away, as if this conversation never happened.

It was exactly an hour before I had to go to Mason's house, and I was extremely nervous. My hand was shaking so bad I had to let Tiara come in and curl my hair. Probably a bad idea, because she kept teasing me, saying it was my "first date", no matter how many times I argued it wasn't. Because, it wasn't. Mason still has a girlfriend, no matter wherever she is.
"My little KayKay has grown up so fast!" Ti continued to joke when she was done.
"Shut...up," I responded, examining my hair in the mirror. It was in loose waves, the way I wore when I was younger, and the way I like it.
"Thanks, Ti," I thanked, going to get dressed. I didn't really have anything decent to wear to dinner. Except an all-black outfit, but I didn't want to look like I was going to/left a funeral. Why didn't I think about this earlier?
"KayKay? I'm back!" A breathless-sounding Tam called from the livingroom.
I held my robe tighter as I rushed downstairs. "What do you mean you're back? Where were you?"
"I looked through your closet and realized you didn't have any good clothes--"
You snooped in my closet?" I questioned. "Why would you do that? And I do to have good clothes!"
But, Tam continued on, as if I never interrupted. "--So, I went out and bought appropiate dress attire. See?"
Tam pulled out something from the bag, and I let out a soft gasp. In her hand was a pretty top and a nice pair of pants. It was really pretty, and I immediately wanted to try it on.
"That's for me?" I asked, reaching out to feel the soft top.
"Yep! Now go try it on with them boots you like to wear."

After putting on the outfit, fixing myself up, and having the twins gush over me, I could finally leave the house. It took me a while to find Mason's street, let alone his house. Tam had let me borrow her car, since she said she wasn't going out anymore tonight. Every single house looked the same! I was so confused! Until I saw one house with our college's logo flying on a flag. He must really love our school.
I got out, the butterflies going crazy, and nervously walked to his door. His house was nice on the outside, and made it look as if he had money. And quite a lot of it.
I pressed his doorbell, which chimed through the house. A pretty nice chime, at that. A dog's yapping came at the door, which made me smile a bit. Then, the door opened to reveal a couple. They both looked at me, confusion across their faces. The man resembled an awful lot lile Mason. And then it hit me.
They're Mason's parents.
A/N: Kaelynn's outfit and her hair.
Sorry if the ending was sucky. I have a lot going on right now, and I have a headache. Thanks for the votes and comments, and reads and jazz. And Japanese Metal bands. YAS!
