Kaelynn's P.O.V.

Pretty soon, the twins had abandoned me in the middle of the schoolyard. I sat there, looking around at people, probably looking lost. I had no idea what I was supposed to do, and only hoped that the bell would hurry up and ring so we could go to class.

"Hey, that's kinda my seat," I heard a voice said beside me. I turned to see another girl about my age. Hopefully.

She had a small frame, and had long, black hair with brown eyes. She looked really pretty, but had a sour look on her face. I wonder if I was the reason for her sourness.

"Oh, I'm sorry!" I apologized, hopping up and taking a few steps away. She just sat down and stared off in the distance.

Just as I was about to walk away, the girl said, "I'm Rebecca."

Odd how she introduced herself out of the blue. But, it wasn't my position to be rude. "I'm Kaelynn. Nice to meet you."

I extended my hand, but Rebecca just stared at it. I wasn't a disease, it's a simple handshake.

"I don't shake hands," she bluntly said, and I let my arm fall. Well then.

"What grade are you?" I asked, trying to escape the awkward atmosphere.

"Freshman in college. You?"

"Same."

She had a baby face, and made her look a lot younger. Not that she was old or anything. Wait, what am I saying???

"I...like your hair," I nervously commented. This is the first person I've spoken to since I stepped foot on this campus, apart from Ti and Tam. Maybe she'll be my first friend, even though I highly doubt it. Yet, a little part of me has hope.

"Thanks," she replied, and I sighed in relief. I thought she would tell me to go away or something.

I was about to say something else, when some guy ran into me. I screamed as I fell to the ground, and his heavy body fell into me, my breath knocked out of mine. The guy sat up quickly, clutching a football, then threw it back where it came. He turned and saw me on the ground, and grabbed my arm.

"I am so sorry," he apologized.

Scowling, I wiped myself off. "You should watch where you're going next time, idiot!"

He chuckled, which made me glare up at him. And time stopped. He was the most gorgeous guy I've ever seen. His caramel skin, his hazel eyes, and that smile made him seem heavenly. Even a little smile crept onto my face as I gazed at him. Or stared. Once I realized this, I quickly looked away. Talk about embarrassing!

"I'm Mason," he introduced, hand out.

"Uhhhh..." All I could do was shake his hand like a zombie. If they could shake hands.

"Her name's Kaelynn," Rebecca spoke up behind me. I'm glad she said that, saving me from being embarrassed again.

I nodded and responded with, "What she said."

"You're a freshman?" He asked, letting go of my hand, and I felt my body cool down. I didn't even realize I had gotten hot!

"Y-yeah," I answered.

"Cool. Well, I have to get going. Football and all. So, see you around!" He started jogging away to more muscular guys tossing around the same football Mason had crashed into me with.

A smile still held its place in my face, and I turned to Rebecca, who looked annoyed. "What's wrong?" I asked, somewhat dreamily.

"I hate that guy," she admitted, crossing her arms.

"Why?" I asked in the same way as before.

"Because he thinks he can charm all the girls and such with his stupid looks and charms. And he can put any girl under his spell, except me. Which is ridiculous, because he isn't even all that good looking! I don't know what people see in him, especially his girlfriend--"

My dream-like state was immediately stopped. "Girlfriend?"

Rebecca looked up at me. "Yeah. Regina Black, the 'most popular girl in her grade'.  They're both juniors, you know? Hate them both."

That sucks. Not that I wanted to date him or anything. These mixed emotions are getting on my nerves! Ugh! I skipped my coffee this morning, maybe that's why.

The bell rung and I sighed as the students started filing into the building, Rebecca among them. Welcome to college, I guess.

A/N: Rebecca and Mason! As you can already guess, they're played by Ariana Grande and Trevor Jackson. And pretend like he's all muscular and stuff. XD So...yah!
