Becky's P.O.V.
Kaelynn was having a panic attack, and Ididn't know what to really do. I crouched down beside her, and hugged onto her.
"What's wrong with her? Is she okay?" Mason asked. Such an idiot!
"Of course she's not okay! She's having a panic attack, you idiot!" I yelled, rocking her back and forth. Kaelynn clunged to me and cried harder.
"Shhhhh, it's okay," I said quietly.
Her grip loosened, but she still cried. She must want Mason. He's bigger and can actually hug her, and as much as I disliked him, I knew Kaelynn wanted him.
"Here, Mason. Calm her down," I ordered, and Mason obeyed.
I noticed a drastic change in Kaelynn, and she relaxed in his arms. Then she must really like him. I looked away to see Officer Dun now arriving with two more coffees.
"What happened? Is she okay?" Dun asked, setting the tray down.
"Yeah, she just had a panic attack," I assured, going back to the board.
"Is it a possibility that these things triggered it?" He moved his hand at the board and the documents.
"Yeah."
"Maybe this was a bad idea?"
"No!" Mason shouted. "Kaelynn wanted to do this. She didn't ask for her mom to be killed, or to have panic attacks, or anything!"
My expression turned into surprise. He actually stood up for Kaelynn in a proud and determined voice. I've never deen him do that before. Especially with Regina. I really dislike her.
Dun scratched his head. "Okay,then."
I resumed looking over the board. This doesn't make any sense! How can there not be a clear suspect of this? "Hey?"
Dun looked up at me, eating a donut. Typical. "Is there anything else you know about this? Besides what's been printed?"
"Not really. Unless there's something they aren't telling us."
"Are there any possible suspects in your possession?"
Now I sounded like an interrogator. Cool! I've always wanted to do this! Interrogate people.
Dun shook his head. "Nope. We brought in every possible suspect. That little girl said they weren't any of them."
"What little girl?"
Dun pointed at Kaelynn. "Her sister. Charcoal or something--"
"Charlize," I corrected. "Where's her phone?"
Mason searched the now-unconscious Kaelynn, and pulled her phone from her pocket. He repeatedly pressed a button. "It's dead."
I groaned, then turned back to the board. "Could she tell you a description of the person?"
Dun shrugged and handed me a paper. "Here's the interview."
I read over it, silently reading to myself. According to this, she seemed nervous. It said she looked around the room, nervous-like and would take some time to answer a few questions. And the words "I forgot" and "I don't know" appeared more than a few times. She knew something.
She knows something, and isn't telling us everything.
"She's hiding something," I spoke out loud. Mason and Dun looked at me.
"Who?" Mason asked.
"Charlize. She knows something, and she isn't telling is anything. We need to find her."
Mason patted the girl in his arms. "If only she was awake."
"I'll call Tam." Tam had given me her and her twin's phone number for any emergencies dealing with Kaelynn.
"Who's Tam?" Mason asked.
"Kaelynn's friend, Tamara."
"Ohhhh."
Idiot.
I walked out the room to have more privacy. Hopefully she has an idea of where Charlize is.
"Hello?" Tam's voice appeared on the other line.
"Hey, Tam."
"Oh, hey!"
"Listen, do you know where Charlize is? It's an emergency, and we need her right now."
"Charlize? What's wrong? Is everything okay? Is Kaelynn alright?"
"Yes yes yes," I lied a little. "Do you know where she is?"
"No, but is Kaelynn okay? Let me speak to her," Tam worried. Such a great friend, but at the wrong time.
"There's nothing wrong! We just need to know where Charlize is!"
"Where are y'all? I need to be there ASAP..."
I hated to do this to her, but I had to. I got a piece of crumpled up paper in the trash, and rubbed it on the reciever.
"Becky? Are you there? What's--"
"I'm sorry, you're breaking up! Tam... are you there?" I cringed, knowing what I'm doing is bad. But it's for our own good.
"Yeah... what's going on--"
"Bad connection! I'll call you later--"
"Beck--"
I quickly hung up and sighed. Poor Tam.
"Everything's alright, Rebecca?" Mason asked when I walked into the room.
Wow. That's the first time he's actually said my name right.
"Yeah. She was worrying too much." I sat in the chair by the table, and picked up a donut. I haven't ate in hours, and was feeling a bit fatigue.
"So, do you know where she is?"
I shook my head, since my mouth was full.
"We do have one person I know of that may know something about this," Dun spoke up.
I choked trying to swallow the donut down so quick, and had to drink some coffee to clear my throat. "You do? Who?"
"Although I wanted to show you now, Kaelynn's unconscious, and she's the only one who would know what to do."
"Who is is?" I repeated.
Dun glanced at a stack of papers. "According to her mother's interview about this person when they were arrested, she called her 'Ann'."
