Kaelynn's P.O.V.

When I woke up, my room was empty. It was clean and everything, as if it was untouched. Nobody was in there at all, except me. And one of the dogs. Tyson, maybe, but I just glanced right over. I kicked the covers off and went to my room door. Tam was just feet away, on the phone.

"...Yes, I had to use it last night.

.It was the first time, doc...Yeah. She was pretty mad..."

So, they were prescribed to me? I was extremely confused, and I hated it. What the heck was going on around here???

"...I don't know if she's up...I'm worried about her, doc. In her sleep, she kept mumbling something like 'Brian did it' or something. I think she needs mental help."

Oh no. I have to get out of here. Tam thinks I'm going crazy, and I need to be sent to a mental ward. No way was that going to happen. I quickly dressed in yoga pants and a sweatshirt over a plain t-shirt. I stuffed my wallet in my pocket, then opened my room door. Tam raised a fist, as if she was about to knock on it.

"Oh, KayKay! Good morning, I--"

"Move," I muttered, ducking under her and walking away. I wasn't crazy, but I wasn't about to prove it to anybody.

Mason, Becky, Ti, and Char were in the living room, awake. What time was it, and why were they here? They stood up at the same time, but I ran towards the door. Unfortunantly, Mason grabbed my waist, and held me.

"Mason STOP!" I yelled.

"Kaelynn, calm down! We have to talk to you!"

"You AREN'T taking me to a mental place!"

"Huh? What--"

"GET AWAY FROM ME--"

Mason covered my mouth tightly, and I couldn't say understandable words. He waited until I was calm to remove his hand.

"What do you want?" I asked in an irritated way.

"To tell you some things. Like, Rebecca's grandma. So, could you come over and sit down?"

I hesitated, thinking about what I should do. Eventually, I sat down opposite of everybody else. I had a glare in my eye as I stared at them intently.

Becky spoke first. "Kaelynn, I'm sorry about all of this, and I never wanted you to find out like this. I would have told you sooner, but I couldn't find the perfect time to. I'm extremely sorry, and I love you too much to upset you on purpose, Kay."

I could barely look at her adorable face right now. "Becky...I don't think I can handle this. I mean, I can't handle with you being related to that woman. I mean, I'm not crazy, you know."

"Who said you were?"

"Tam did! And you had to stuff pills down my throat last night!"

Everybody's faces twisted in confusion. Tam chuckled nervously, then said, "What pills?"

"From last night. You stuffed one in my mouth. Don't you remember?"

"Noooo, we never gave you pills. You just fell asleep after we had pizza and after your talk with Char."

How could they NOT remember my tantrum last night? Maybe they were playing a joke or something on me. Or they didn't want to discuss it now. I just shook my head, trying to forget about it.

"Anyways, I have to go. Clear my head. Don't wait up for me, or whatever."

I got up and went to leave the house, when I felt someone pull on my arm. It was Mason.

"I just want to warn you, Kaelynn. There are some bad people out here in the world. I don't want you to get hurt. I like you. A lot." He kissed my forehead, and I couldn't help but smile.

At nine-something, I came back home. Mason and Becky were still there, for some odd reason. They were eating pizza and drinking coke, and laughing with the twins. Char was nowhere in sight.

"I said to not wait up," I said. I was out all day at multiple places, like Dairy Queen and Walmart. And I even sat at Sheetz for no reason at all. The main point was to clear my head and control my thoughts, but everything started back up as soon as I walked in the door.

"Huh?" Ti asked.

"You weren't out for long," Tam said. "Five minutes tops."

Okay, this was really getting to be really freaky. Did they forget or something? Or are they actually tricking me? Their faces showed no ounce of jokiness, and I was starting to be creeped out.

"N-no, I was out all day," I protested.

"No, you needed a breather," Mason asked.

"Why?"

"'Cause I asked you to be my girlfriend..."

My eyes widened.

"...And you said 'yes'."
